I have an MP15T and want to improve the trigger. Trying not to spend much money and I
like tinkering with things like this. I got a 1/4 28 setscrew to take up the pretravel, but if I adjust it to take up more than a tiny amount, the disconnect doesnt work. There is not enough forward travel in the trigger when released to let the disco release the hammer onto the sear. It appears I would need to remove material from the hammer or disco to fix this. If thats the case is there a tutorial somewhere? I also have a lot of overtravel. It appears to me that a small screw added to the front of the trigger facing straihht down could contact the receiver and get rid of the overtravel. Is this a good idea? Been done before? Maybe I should just buy a new trigger....thoughts? |

Try backing off the adjuster until you can move the selector switch to "Safe", then tighten your adjuster just until you feel resistance at the set screw; move the selector back to "Fire" and do a function test; it should work. It'll still be a heavy trigger, but the half-mile of takeup will be gone. Personally, I like Hiperfire's "EDT" single-stage unit: 4.5 pound break weight and short reset, for $90 from Joe Bob's. |
