| I'm sure it's in here somewhere, but will someone tell me the difference between rifle-length and carbine-length buffers? (besides the fact that one is longer!) Can one be used in place of the other (if so, which way?); what happens if you use the wrong one? Thanks, guys!! |
| Using a carbine buffer in a rifle length buffer tube will allow the rear of the gas key to slam into the under side of the charging handle and the screws holding the gas key won't hold up for very long. Using a rifle length buffer in a carbine tube will not allow the bolt carrier to retract far enough to feed a round from the mag. |
