| i had a case head separation as the base was was ripped off and failed to eject and caused a double fed. i removed the round and broken casebase from the chamber and got my extractor tool,, i tried several times to remove the rest of the case and it seemed to fail and itself got stuck a few times and had to be tapped out. i tried a cleaning rod with a patch and a .30 cal brush to no avail. at home i inspected the chamber and it seemed to be clear....?? i searched for the case head a the range and was sure it was stuck,,but now i think it may have been ejected and thrown clear leading me to think it was stuck. i chamber a case and a round no problem and both ejected ... can anyone tell me if this could have damaged the chamber by doing this? |

I'm pretty sure that you didn't damage the chamber with the cleaning rod, unless it was steel. Even then, its unlikely. Look into the chamber with a flashlight and see it there is visible damage.
Your post was a little difficult to follow, however. Did you actually get the front part of the case out? |
| IM SORRY GENTLEMEN, I HAVE AN AR15, 223/556 CAL WITH A WYLE CHAMBER,, THE CASE HEAD WASNT EVEN IN THE CHAMBER, APPARENTLY THAT HALF WAS EJECTED WITHOUT ME REALIZING IT AND THE LOWER HALF STAYED IN WHICH I DID CLEAR,( I DID SEARCH FOR THE CASEHEAD AND COULDNT FIND IT SO IT LEAD ME TO BELIVE IT WAS STILL IN THE CHAMBER,THE ROD WAS A STANDARD STEEL GI CLEANING ROD. |
