Here's the problem, I was/am assembling a DPMS lower receiver with a Bushmaster LPK. Everything went together like butter, I'm thinking this is easier than sh**; then I function checked it. 1. Verify that hammer locks to the rear when pushed back. -- YES 2. Verify that hammer pivots forward when trigger is pressed. -- YES 3. Without releasing the trigger, push the hammer back again and verify that it locks (caught by disconnector). --NO If I let the trigger move slightly forward, the disconnector does engage, and the rest of the fn check passes. 4. Releasing the trigger should not cause the hammer to pivot fully forward (caught by trigger). -- YES 5. Hammer will fall when trigger is pressed. -- YES The disconnector does pivot on the trigger pin, and I used the tapered disconnector spring, and double/triple checked it to make sure I had the right spring. It just appears that the disconnector does not pivot enough to let the catch on the hammer to slide by it and properly. Suggestions? ~rj |
DING DING DING DING we have a winner! I could not find my long allen key, so I did not have the pistol grip, therefore the selector switch installed yet. Right after I wrote the initial post, I walked my butt down to the corner hardware store to get a new one (and give my post time to brew). I got back, finished putting together, and function checked it. It worked. Then it dawned on me. Morale of the Story: put the thing together before you worry about it not working. ~rj |
