I usually just eyeball it. Measure the positions of the holes in the block and the barrel to see how far back you have to slide the gas block; you could mark this with a pencil or something. Then just slide it straight back to that line after aligning the hole at the rear of the gas block with the hole in the barrel. There may very well be a more fool-proof way of doing it; I'm interested to see the replies you get. |
| When I put a gas block on my 458 I measured the distance from the end of the barrel to the hole . Then marked on the gas block where the hole in it was and put that mark at the same distance .Getting it level was the hardest part as you don't want it canted or it will shoot to the left or right . I used two small levels one on the A3 receiver and the other on the block and then tightened it down . I then centered the rear sight and went to the range . It was just a hair off so I loosened it and tapped it to the right . Then shot again and it was perfect . Then I put some Loc Tite around it and in one screw hole at a time . |
