I think if I wanted one now I'd get a Ruger but they don't have a ton of configurations available and don't do parts. The PX-10 came out prior to the DPMS acquisition. I am pretty sure it was a home grown build by PSA, I don't think it was a clone of the G2. |

| I was an early adopter. It was reliable, but I didn't like the sloppy upper/lower fit and the bolt release finger pad did not align with the mating spot on the lower, etc several other nitnoids. Never could tame the felt recoil even with adj gas block. When Roam came out with the magnesium LR308 stuff I just sold off the G2... |
| What all is proprietary in the G2? Lower, upper, barrel extension, complete BCG? Or you can go buy a POF or Ruger SFAR off the shelf & have a lighter rifle? |

I really hope PSA comes out with one. The problem with the Ruger SFAR is they are hard to rebarrel unless you use your current extension. Supposedly the extension measurements are all over the place so noone will make them. At this point youre stuck with what you have. You would think Ruger, with all modern modern machinery could make everything to some pretty tight tolerances. I would be all over a GII just because there is some aftermarket support. I would love a 6cm or 22cm barrel for my SFAR. |
Proud deplorable. MAGA!!

I put a ARC-fire and a G$ trigger in my G2 and it runs like a scalded cat. Holy crap this thing is fun. No mods to the gun or to the ARC-fire. Just drop in a go. I know some of the 308 AR's either will not run or work because of the bolt carrier design, but the G2 works fine. |

That's what @TonyRumore said in a different thread. He gave up his SFAR barrel project b/c there wasn't consistent barrel extension dimensions, IIRC. Looks like Ruger hung it up as well, for now. |

Looks like Ruger hung it up as well, for now. I don't know about the factory SFAR extensions. All I can tell you is we made 20ea SFAR barrel extensions, checked them with four factory original SFAR bolts and all 20 of our extensions worked fine with all four test bolts. Then we installed them on barrels and sold them. Half of them came back from customers due to their SFAR bolts not going into our extensions. We again verified that all four of our factory SFAR bolts worked fine, but the customer's SFAR bolts would not. At that point, we scrapped the SFAR aftermarket project. Tony Rumore Tromix |

Reading that when he said it really shook my confidence in ruger. Really shocking to me in this day and age . |

There is maybe a reason Ruger doesn't sell spare parts & you have to send your gun to them for repair.
