DPMS Oracle 5.56 used mainly for predator (coyote, fox, & bobcat) hunting along w/ shooting pigs & ground hogs. I'm looking for a super nice, crisp, clean trigger. Should I go w/ Geissele or Timney & which model as they both make quite a few? I'm guessing I want between 2.5-3.5 lbs. but not really sure… Any help is greatly appreciated!

This, I have 3. The most accurate AR's I own have them. If you want to squeeze every bit of accuracy out of it, this is what most people run.

If you can wait for it soon. CMC is coming out with a flat bow 2-stage very soon I think!
From their instagram.
"Specs are as follows: a 2/2 and a 1.5/3 for the CMC 2 Stage Trigger. MSRP is appx. $225.00. To be released in about 1 month. Thank you all for supporting us!"

To me - Drop in units are superior because you can utilize more advanced trigger internals and not be limited to the the standard AR setup.
Truly a ground up design.

I have the SSA-E and love it. I will say that it has a very minute touch of creep; only noticed when shooting of the bags. I got it off of gunbroker for $190. I had a Jard 3lb single stage that broke really nice, but had trouble with it doubling on me. I may go with the Geissele Super Dynamic  Enhanced on my next build. Midway has them for $235. Good luck,

Personally, I like single stage triggers for accuracy work.  I have experience with the Timney 3lb and I love it.

I have an SSA-E, and a SD-E, the SD-E feels much better than the SSA-E (shorter take up,cleaner break, lighter feel) the straight bow makes a big difference.

BTE would be a great choice.  Battle Tested Equipment. Smooth 3.5 pounds that has become my favorite over the Timneys.

Agreed.  They're all great triggers, but I really like the SD-C and SD-E.

I'm digging the Geissele SD-3G with the flat bow atm.  I also ordered the same version but with the rounded bow, I believe its called the Super 3 Gun trigger.  Before I got the trigger I was afraid it would be way too light of a trigger from all the youtube reviews and some of the written ones as well.  However I have found no such thing and it is rather easy to lay off the trigger.  Actually the first time I went out to test the trigger after I dropped it in I did a rapid fire/5-6 round burst test.  As soon as I let off the first 3 two deer, a Doe and her young fawn, that were no more than 20' off to my right but perfectly hidden ran right across my path.  Needless to say I had to let off the trigger real quick and no harm was done.  After that I was convinced the trigger was perfect.  Yeah I know that story sounds like a load of steaming hoarse carp.    Gotta love living in WI on 30 acres of farm and woods.

Since you are hunting, I'd recommend the SSA-E and SG3, etc. I also own a bunch of CMC single stage triggers that allow one to fire fast as shit.

But for anyone else cruising this thread, one thing to keep in mind:

For a fighting rifle, consider how light you really need your trigger to be. When your rifle is slung and you have gear on, how easily could a piece of gear encounter your trigger? What if your weapon was accidentally not put on safe? Not saying you shouldn't have a light trigger, just keep that in mind when shopping for triggers. There are lots of great triggers out there for fighting rifles from awesome manufacturers.

Hiperfire, hands down the best trigger out there in my opinion.

You really dont want a single stage benchrest target trigger on a multi-purpose hunting AR that will be used in the field.

The best safe but precision combination trigger will be the Geissele SSA-E with the curved trigger.

Hiperfire for sure.  I have Timney's in my AR's, and really like them.  A friend put in a Hiperfire and I tried it out.  I absolutely loved it.  But, before pulling the trigger (as it were)  on a purchase, I researched the hell out of them.  I bought the 24E, and I'm in love.  I love the short take-up and reset, the crisp break, and by using different springs, I can adjust the trigger to 2, 3, or 4 pounds.

So...  I'll be selling some lightly used Timney's soon if you're interested???

If your looking at a single stage the Wilson Combat TTU is amazing and I personally think it's the best drop in design made.... Even the TTU match 2 stage trigger has earned my preference over my Geissele triggers mainly because of the distribution of pull weights between stage 1 and 2.....you can't go wrong with Geissele either.. Remember triggers are very subjective..... I've bought and sold many triggers trying to find what I like best.....

Geissele DMR is the way to go for a hunting rig. Have mine set up 1st stage 2.8lbs- 2nd stage 1.0lbs. 2nd stage break is super clean and crisp no slight creep
Instant break very nice trigger. I also own the SSA,SSA-E & S3G and I would pick the DMR hands down.

I always forget about this model because it is one I don't own.  It would also be worth looking at for sure.

I dislike flat bow triggers, cause they are too inconsistent for me.

I hear great things about the Geissele Hi-Speed National Match, and many people feel its the best trigger for a precision build OP. I vote SSA-E for OP if he wants a non adjustable though.

So the SSA-E is non-adjustable right? What lb. pull is each stage set on? If I were looking for one w/ an adjustable trigger, what lb. pull should I be looking for? I think I need to try to shoot a few w/ these triggers to see if I can tell what the difference is b/c I'm getting so many answers...

If your looking for a 2.5-3.5 lb let off the Geissele SSA has a 2 lb 2nd stage let off. The SSA-E a 1.3 LB 2nd stage let off iirc. Both have crisp clean 2nd stage let offs.  You be happy with either one.

Coolbrze,

The SSA-E will have a 2.3lb first stage and a 1.2lb second stage with a very crisp break. Much like snapping a candy-cane in half.

Another vote for the SSA-E or the SD-E depending on which trigger you like more.
