Just stopped in to say hey everyone! I have been reading the forums for quite some time now, but was never able to sign up with my SpamPossible email account. lol... Anyway, Im getting my FIRST M4 in a week in a half. RRA lower receiver with Stag Arms (CMT) flat-top upper receiver. I am having some real issues trying to decide what type of optic to mount on top. I would like to get an Trij Acog, but holy crap......the optic would cost more than my rifle. My alt. optic would be AimPoint, or aim Replica. If anyone can prove to me that the replica aimpoint just isn't worth go for it. I might be able to get some extra cash somewhere and splurge for the real mccoy.

THanX,

my rule of thumb: dont buy chicom crap.  personally, i'd save up for an EoTech, depending on your use for the optics

Don't buy replica shit for your AR (unless it's an Oly).  Putting replica Aimpoints on a real AR is like putting Walmart "rims" on a Porsche!

I am currently running an EoTech on my AR and like it better than Aimpoint because it has a larger window and will still run if the glass is damaged.

ThanX guys, your input is noted and now I am really in a bind. EOTech scopes are really nice, and so is the price. Any recommendations on a good site to get one from. Ebay perhaps?

Check the boards for a used ACOG if the cash flow is good, or a used Aimpoint will fill the bill!

i'd keep my eye out in the EE over ebay any day of the week--too many asshats on Ebay sometimes and bidding also sucks sometimes

you can find cheap(er), used, quality optics in the EE; either way (esp using Ebay) watch out for the knockoffs
