Has anyone used a Vector Optics 1-4x and had any luck with it? I know there not a high end scope, but I was looking at them and they seem to be made very similar to the Millett 1-4x DMS ! Maybe same scope under a different name??

Funny you posted this- I came here to ask the same question. I posted this on another site but got hardly any responses and no reviews. It does look like the DMS and the reticle looks the exact same as far as I can tell.. Would love to hear some opinions on this.

Vector's 1-4x24 is actually quite a good quality scope.  I tested it using my FN 308 bolt rifle and with their 1MOA center dot I was still able to get 3in groups at 200yds at 4x.  Of course I prefer a big scopes on benchrests, but by testing it with the bolt gun and held zero I am confident to put it on my SHTF rifle.  Lenses are very clear too.  I don't have a Millett but for almost half the price I am a happy camper.

Thanks sstteevee, that's what I was wanting to hear!

Anyone use one on an AR? Any pics?

sstteevee- I take it the circle/dot is etched and remains black when the power is off?  When under illumination would the dot wash out completely? I have been looking at this scope for a while. With the economy the way it is I can not afford another Aimpoint T1 like have on my AK so this will be the only optic I will have for my AR. Do you feel this scope is a true 1x?? thanks

You might want to read this thread before deciding on whether to spend money with Vector Optics.  I have a couple of their scopes, but don't think I will be buying any more.  For what it's worth, the scopes are fair quality but heavy, and the controls are problematic (mushy turrets and stiff focusing ring).

Please do not purchase from Vector Optics, or from their other identities: Vector Scopes, SC Vector, Sun Clear, or Shanghai Sunclear, or rifle accessories on Gunbroker.

They were caught at SHOT Show last year with a booth full of knocked-off products complete with knocked off logos and made in the USA and made in Israel markings. A lot of their products are direct counterfeits of Mako Group/FAB Defense, EOTech, Grip Pod, LaRue, Magpul and other companies' products.

Their inventory was confiscated last year by US customs and the State Dept.

After their profuse apology to us and assurances that they would never knock off our products again, I just got a price list from them and found out that they have about 5 of our best srlling products that they have just copied down to out logos and "Made in Israel" markings out of "ABS plastic" along with more fake copies of products from the previously mentioned companies.

People are paying full price for these items only to have them break or not even work to begin with. It makes the legitimate companies look bad and we spend a lot of money replacing the fake items with legitimate ones when unsuspecting buyers send the fake ones to us expecting warranty replacement.

Please do not buy from Vector!

Thanks for the heads up chibajoe and MakoDefense, but I'm kinda in the same boat as ropin1. I don't have the extra cash for a high end optic. I would love to have a Trijicon TR24 but it's well out of range. Any 1-4 red dot optics you would recommend for around a $100?

Anyone else have any positive or negative reviews of this optic?

Try Primary Arms. They have good quality budget optics. Their customer service is outstanding.

If you don't need illumination, then the Bushnell Banner 1-4x or the Vortex Crossfire 1.5-4x are good scopes in that price range.  The Primary Arms 1-4x is $20 more and has illumination.  I've seen used DMS-1s going for $150-$165 in the EE pretty regularly; heck, there's one on there right now with a PEPR mount with an asking price of $230.  The bottom line is that you can find decent scopes in your price range without having to give your money to shysters and thieves.

You may want to look at Sightmark, they sell Some pretty good Chinese made scopes - I have been impressed with the quality for the price. I don't know first hand about their reflex sights.
