I just bought, and returned, a Frenzy Plus.

I wanted to see what the hype about this brand was about and needed something with an Acro footprint as i am doing s rebuild on PC Carbine.

The sight has relatively low viewing area, which is good and common for mailbox style red dots.

The glass was possibly the worst I've ever looked through.

Tint was not an issue, but distortion--and magnification--were.

If not centering what I was targeting, anything outside of center became stretched/distorted/curved like a camera fisheye.

The worst part was that it actually magnified.  Not quite 2x, but obvious enough that whatever i looked at was bigger in the window.  I looked at an object in my living room and passed the sight through line of sight, the break in contour lines was obvious and portion in the window was much bigger(and curved due to the fisheye effect).

Promptly returned.  Sample of one but garbage in my opinion.  Never seen even a budget sight with glass that bad.  I would never trust looking through any iron sights  though this.  It may fly as a dor only, but I will never try them again.

I'm looking for a stand in/fill in for an ACRO P2 until I decide if I want to go all in on a couple of P2's so I'm hoping to find something with a similar window size and feel, even if the user controls are totally different.

Thanks

That sucks the one I received was nothing like that so maybe something changed. Mine was an early model from when they were first released.

@chmodx was yours like this? Dont mind the smudges/etc around the very far edges, that just from not being cleaned perfectly. These are the best two pics I could take through it with my phone on a very diverse background of my wife's clothes for color testing

Don't lie, that's your own closet.

It's hard to tell--I tried to get a picture of how mine was before returning it.  I just could not get the right focus with the camera, but to my eyes the lamp shade retaining nut(silver sphere) was noticeably larger in the window.  Contours of a box were misaligned in the picture to what stuck out of the optics edge.

I just couldn't get my camera to capture it

I also tried holding it both close and far.  Even at arm's length like holding a pistol, the magnification was present.

Shot Cola Warrior NW today with my 12.5" 6 ARC with 2-12 on top and I really liked it. Easy to get behind in the few different positions we shot rifle. Targets started at 100 and went to 550. I left my parallax on 100 yards (didn't think to adjust during the course of fire )and it looked fantastic at all ranges.

So I've got some cash to burn and I think I'm finally wanting the 2-12x44 you've all been liking.

But, I just looked at SHOT show 2026 news and it looks like Vector released but not to retail yet a 'Gen II' version of the continental line.

Does anyone with a current 'Gen I' 2-12 feel like anything needed an upgrade? It looks like the glass and basics are all the same, but switchable turrets is introduced sort of like Leupolds old M1/M2/M3 turret line in the MK4 series.

Only thing I'd care to change would be a low profile built in throw lever of some sort.

I got the heads up from this video, but it looks like the GenII includes:

Motion sensor illum
Switchable turrets
Integrated (allen key set screw I assume) sharkfin throw lever
50% more elevation and windage adjustment

So maybe I'll wait for the new Gen II and it was great for me to be broke last year when I was dabbling in all these budget products

Ive been using the Vector 4x prism in various 2g and RnG for about 6 months now, and probably the rest of this year for day events.

Im honestly impressed with the glass and the form factor. The hardware is very suspect and cheap looking but has thus far held up.

The most irritating thing about it is the 1moa clicks. I am annoyingly .4moa windage offset from being perfectly zeroed.

Unfortunately it doesnt look like there is any info on when the Gen II will be released Since it was a SHOT debut I guess it could be any time this year.

I might not be able to hold off on buying the Gen I if it goes past this summer and just settle for that.

I like my Gen 1 a lot. The only thing for the 2-12 that I'd like from the Gen II is the integrated throw lever. Other than that, I don't care about the additional adjustment. 10-mil per turn of the elevation knob is nice too, but for the 2-12 I don't intend to dial.

Was hoping to sight in my new 2-12x44 Continental setup this weekend...

I should've guessed chinese mounts were going to be junk.

I'm not holding my breath for them to get back to my email requesting an RMA and refund either... I shot them a bunch of emails when I first ordered the scope, even talked to the guy in Utah and he told me I had to email support@vectoroptics... He wasn't helpful at all.

Now I have to wait until I can pinch pennies for a reputable 34mm mount that can accommodate a RDS.

Do what I did. Get a UTG Accu-sync mount. They are pretty cheap if you get the standard bolt mount. Or you can step up to the QD version. Seems you can actually get MOA cant with the QD versions. Might have to pick one up some day. Yes they do have a red dot top cap mount as an accessory.

I just got a Zion 25 DMR and I realized I didn't have a spare mount. So I needed something quick and cheap to test it out. Thankfully I was able to get this for about $30 to $35. I will be upgrading in the future when I know I will be keeping the rifle.

Ah shoot, sorry, no. Its their other 34mm cantilever mount. I just looked and that is a newer fancy one.

What was the issue - it's machined too low and hitting the top of the pic rail?

Alright dudes I dont see any recent reviews in here so here's something I've been looking into recently - a multi reticle red dot. Brace yourself for another profeshunal review by yours truly

I have been wanting to pick up an ACRO-style red dot for my PCC (as well as a top piggyback-style SPR/DMR setup) and do testing with multi-reticle red dots. After using a friend’s multi-reticle red dot on his pistol, I thought it was a very cool concept. Theres also a new VAS mount from Vector they are advertising as well with a QD lever.

The Holosun ARO Gold Dot which I purchased earlier this year was not an MR version so trying out this new one from Vector was an easy decision with its 3 reticle choices and ACRO-style enclosed housing.

The M75 is a very nice compact red dot sight which feels sturdy and well-built with a fully 7075-T6 aluminum housing and battery cap. The recessed adjustments are also in line with modern red dot design trends as not to crush the windage and elevation knobs during use.

The feature set of this ACRO-style red dot looks to be standard with the red dot industry and includes all the modern specifications such as motion on/off, a 22MM window size per the specs, and an IP67 water rating.

My favorite reticle of the new multi-reticle choices - the circle-dot - is as we all know from Eotech and has been adopted by several red dot companies. Most manufacturers also include either a 2 MOA dot, a 2MOA dot and 65 MOA circle dot combo, and a 65 MOA circle with no center dot – which this model has all three of.

The glass in the M75 is very clear to my eye and incorporates a slight blue tint with standard orange and green hue reflective coatings and forward lens tilt. All reticle modes are clear, and the circle-dot-style reticle makes target acquisition very simple. A slight parallax shift is present at the very edges of the glass viewing area and after testing it seems to be the same shift as other red dots in this price range. No ones perfect I guess.

In hand the VAS mount feels like a solid choice for the ACRO-style mounting of the SCRD-M75 enclosed red dot and its specs show that it’s a modular mounting system. The system is pretty much a-la-carte with various features such as the ability to add a 45-degree accessory to the mount much like UNITY and Badger Ordnance mounts, etc.
The VAS mount locks up solid and holds zero but has several quirks to each part that I think Vector needs to refine. Aspects such as screw sizing and mounting tolerance in a version 2.0 model, perhaps. The provided screws for the dots and the adapter plates were too long to be used on a variety of red dots I have on hand such as the Holosun ARO or Sig Sauer Romeo5 and had to be shortened on a grinding wheel.

The ACRO adapter/mounting plate for the VAS system also looks to be machined to an incorrect tolerance so the M75 is ever so slightly crooked (shown in the rear mounted view below) on the VAS mount when fully torqued down. This is not a huge issue as the amount of tilt is less than a few degrees but still shows a flaw in the cutting angle or tolerance of the final machined part.

A slight cosmetic issue is that the QD lever for the VAS system cannot be used in any orientation without the graphics being upside down. For me I like to have the QD lever on my support side closing to the rear as to be manipulated with that hand if needed, and when I orient it like any other Larue or ADM QD lever position the graphics are upside-down. Again – not a deal breaker as maybe the other quirks – but something to note none-the-less.

Some photos mounted on the PCC:

So, will these make their way permanently onto the PCC or other setups? The M75 multi-reticle red dot for sure. I want to try and use the M75 as a piggyback red dot solution over top of the 2-12 scope model when I finally receive it as I mentioned previously. I’ve been seeing lots of pictures with users showing ACRO dots on top of their scopes so that will be a great experiment to try for me next in a SPR or DMR role.

The VAS mounting system will need more reliability testing on my end before I keep it on a 9mm or 5.56-caliber setup and will be moved to a .22LR conversion for the time being.

And thank you to Vector Optics for sending this RDS over along with the 2-12 I've been posting about FOREVER (review coming soon for arfcom) and sending them over for review (I dont have a fancy YT channel or website). But as you can see, not all is perfect even with provided review products.

And here it finally is for anyone following.

At this point no one should be a stranger to the Vector Continental 2-12 scope. It has been one of the most praised MPVO options in the sub-$1000 space. After waiting to get a 2-12 in my hands for over a year in the Vector Optics thread I was finally able to get model SCFF-69 for my SPR build.

The scope as many have said is extremely sold and feels very good in the hands. The specs are all very good which include a 34mm main tube, illumination, fully coated German glass, front focal plane, and locking turrets to round it out. The rest of the specs are in line with many other offerings in this space such as the 44mm objective lens, IP67 waterproofing, and 1000g of shock proofing.

Some photos mounted in the 34mm mount and with a piggyback red dot for DMR work:

A 2-12 optic IMO is perfect for the 0-600yd range of the 5.56 AR platform and with this dual-use reticle is a great DMR/SPR option that allows for close-up and far-away shooting.

Turrets

The turrets on the Continental 2-12 feel fantastic. They are very tight and each click is quite crisp and audible. Getting behind the scope there is no issue with them and finding your dialing with the turrets. One cool feature is the revolution indicator mark which is a pop-up piece that get larger as you dial in more elevation with the top turret and is a nice easy reference point when looking up to see where you are in the dial. The parallax knob is where both the brightness adjustment and parallax are both located with a side-mounted battery compartment.

Illumination

The illumination is good but not daylight bright as one would expect from a scope like this that isn’t a ‘fiber dot’ model. Vector does offer that feature in its 1-6 and 1-8 models for those who want a very bright center-only dot like the Primary Arms NOVA series. I personally prefer illumination on my SPR and DMR builds so that I can make faster follow-up shots on lower magnifications. More on that when going into the dual-style reticle in the SCFF-69 model I have here.

Glass

The glass on the Continental line from Vector Optics is IMO excellent for the price point as C_DOES has said in his videos. In the above photos at the range, I was testing a new 77g load up with 22.5g of TAC and shot this quick 5 round group which was extremely tight with the Continental 2-12. I had a brief stint with a Continental 1-6 LPVO last year on my DMR setup and it was amazing how such good glass was put into a budget line of scope.

The MPVO is the new hotness in the DMR/SPR world so I needed to try out something in this 2-12 range after using so many 1-4 over the years and the 1-6 I also just mentioned which provided not enough magnification at distance in my opinion if you’re going out past 300 yards for good target ID.

This 2-12 MPVO model features an upgraded version of their Schott HD German glass with VePRO multi-coating. At 2x the eye box is very forgiving and is easy to get behind while 10x is a little tighter at full magnification and 12x even more so, but I would still rate the eye box as very nice at the full 2-12 range.

For an SPR or DMR build the 2-12 magnification range is perfect in intermediate calibers like the .223/5.56. 12x mag will get you easily out to 500yds and even 800yds if you need to with precision at distance in n SPR role. If you’re shooting for groups on the bench 12x might be a little low but is still doable and you’re able to see the .224 caliber projectiles on paper.

For comparison, I’ve included photos through both the Continental 2-12 and a Vortex Venom 3-15 I own as well. To me the Continental has some edge blur but it a much clearer scope with more contrast and clarity than the Vortex Venom series.

Reticle

The SCFF-69 model of the Continental 2-12 features the VET-RAR2 reticle (shown above in photos through the scope) that many companies are now utilizing such as Swampfox with their new 1-8 Gen II models. The VET-RAR2 has an ‘Eotech-style’ circle with center dot at 2-6x to allow for very fast shots on the move and then above 6x is a classic Christmas-tree-style reticle for precision distance shooting. I love this reticle type for my SPR builds as it’s almost like having two scopes in one.

The reticle substentions on the VET-RAR2 are not too fat and not too thin and I like the addition of the ranging meter in the reticle as well. I’m not sure I would have put it so centered, but its not in a spot that obscures anything with your field of view.

Conclusions

After my extended use of several hundred rounds with the Continental 2-12 I agree with other reviewers from the last few years who have gotten the Continental 2-12 in hand that it’s an excellent scope for the money and is extremely solid and feature-rich for the price. There’s not much more you can ask for from a scope in this range and as of now it’s going to replace the Vortex Venom 3-15 that’s on my 18” SPR setup for competition and long-range shooting out to 500yds with a small frame AR. I posted a while ago about a Gen II Continental scope from vector that was shown at SHOT and I can only hope it improves on the Gen I which is a tall order.

Thats a tough one. From what I've seen in the YT SHOT videos Shake awake IMO could be an awesome feature in the Gen II if you use the 2-12 without a supplemental red dot and want to keep the illum on with the RAR reticle in the eotech-style-mode. If shake awake and switchable turrets arent something you see yourself using than a discounted Gen I when they have sales is probably fine.

Appreciate the reply, I guess I'd really have no use for shake awake on a 16" SPR'ish build, I wasnt sure if maybe they were upgrading the glass in the gen 2 also.  If not it looks like I'll save some money and go with the gen 1 then.  Thanks

So this week I've finally had time with summer officially over to get to the range twice in the same week. Once indoors at the 100yd to get a good zero and again today but this time outdoors and out to 500yds. Also did some shooting off of a tripod (new to me Rokstad carbon fiber tripod) because what long range pseudo-PRS day wouldnt have that, right? I'm testing a bunch of new ARCA accessories with a cheap full-length MLOK rail I got on Amazon as well as an Area419 adapter for my Harris bipod.

The Continental 2-12 was great out to 500yds with my 18" SPR and again I had no complaints about performance. I didnt dial for anything and only used the reticle holds while staying in 'long range mode' on the reticle between 8-12x the majority of the time. I have a top dot zeroed at 25yds which helps give me a heads up view on where I'm pointed downrange rather than cycle through magnification for a larger FOV.

With a ~2700fps MK262 clone round out of the 18" SPR the holds were pretty spot on for 5.56 with the reticle being dead on from 100-200yds, about 1mil at 300, and about 4 mils at 500.

The berm in the reticle photo below is @ 500yds and the scope is on 12x.

Holy crap, i completely forgot about this thread and owing a review.

Welp, i can give a random schmuck review or link some impartial 3rd party reviews, so i'm going to cheat and link theirs so there's no bias.

I will say that i have the other reticle for this scope (scff-29 vs the reviews of the scff-40) and that i don't notice the purple chromatic abaration that their cameras pick up and make really prominent at 24x. Edit to add: I'm also not a dialer, i'm a reticle adjustment shooter, so outside of passing a couple box tests and holding zero, i can't comment as to long term dialing durability.

I've been tickled fucking pink with it though, especially for the price (i believe it was under $500 after all the codes and sales).

I'm waiting for the new Continental Gen II 3-18x44 that was shown at SHOT for a higher power scope for an SPR - but so far nothing has been released about it.

They're blowing out a lot of models, maybe they're still waiting until they sell more for the income?

I got a Paragon 3x prism for $100 shipped a couple weeks ago. Was looking at used PA micro 3x's for over double that. The Paragon 3x gets good reviews so I looked it up and couldn't not order it for that price.

The Paragon magnifier and prism line are highly under-rated. Very very good glass for the price. Reticles are a bit weird on the prisms but they are solid performers. Only issue I ever had was a loose prism in a 5x magnifier (red dot would shift if you whacked it with a screw driver) and they warrantied it for me no problem with an advance shipment.

And they use the aimpoint micro footprint and not that stupid proprietary PA prism footprint so you can use any mount.
