I see great delas on bulk tracer rounds. There is no issue with using these for everyday target is there? What about at a range?

They can start fires and I HAVE with them before. My cousin reloaded them with the same mentality as you seeing that they are really inexpensive. Was out in a heavily wooded area during winter, so I thought everything would be nice and wet. Shot about 100 rounds with no problem, then all of the sudden we started smelling burning wood. Walked out to re-adjust our targets and noticed a decent sized fire on the hill about 50 yards left of where we were shooting. We were able to put it out just fine but it makes me wonder if we hadn't.  Kinda scary... not saying you shouldn't use them but make sure to be careful.

That, and some places may not let you shoot them.

Plus they tend to be less stable at long distances.

In sept 1995 one tracer round fired at the basic training range at Lackland AFB started a fire that burned almost 1000 acres in the impact area and took a week to put out. Now that was a fun time at work.

Be aware some of the old tracers from CTD have caused problems cycling rifles, i think its the old win tracers. There's a thread in GD. Also there are very few ranges in NC that let you shoot them, especially now with the leaves starting to drop

Good luck

It's very easy to start fires with them, as the other guys have said. I did it in 2009 when I was out shooting in the woods with one of my friends. By the time we ran down the hill into the pit our targets were in, it had turned into a 10x10 foot fire. Doesn't sound big but when you consider it took us about 10 seconds to get there and all we had was three bottles of water and flip flops to put it out with, it could've been reaaaally bad.
