I did my first trigger today (JP). It took me almost 6 hours

. However I'm very happy with the results. I have a question. In order to get the selector to work it was necessary to do some fitting. After a dozen ins and outs I got it working well. However I not sure if I should be able to move the selector to "safe" if the hammer is not cocked. What i mean is I am unable to move the selector to "safe" unless the hammer is cocked. Is this the way the gun should be setup? Thanks.

safety should not turn to safe position unless hammer coked
