Anybody have any tricks as far as restoring the original "dull" finish on triangle grips.
Thanks, Hal |

Hmmm, usually people want to make them shiney. You might be better off selling your shiney ones on the EE, and buying a NOS set from Rich (Gunbroker name "Reliant One" I believe) [email protected]
He sells them new in wrap, and they're the nice dull finish. Nice guy to deal with, and they were $25 a set if I remember correctly. I would think you'd need to use walnut or corn cob media and blast them to get them dull again. Too much of a demand for the shineys though, so I'd get a new set if I were you and sell the nice shiney ones. |

What ever you do OP, do not buy these. That guy is just looking to rip someone off. |

I'm new to the AR World and this will teach me not to think out loud on the website. As soon as I pressed the "submit" button, I realized that it would probably come across as a dumb question since everyone seems to like "shiney" furniture. I just bought a mint '72 SP1 (I know" the gun doesn't exist until I send a picture") that has shiny spots on the triangles from the little handling it has gotten. I already picked up a spare set of new USGI triangle grips from Sir Plus for $27.00, but I was just curious because I don't plan to shoot it much and, being anally retentive, I wanted to keep it original. I have an A2 as a shooter and as soon as I can figure out how to post some pictures, I will.
Thanks for the help, guys! I am having a ball but my wife thinks I'm nuts. Hal |

"We reserve the right to end this auction at any time if a bid has not been submitted." ...Uh...What???...

Both Rich and Red Barn are easy to work with. This is true, but I think Rich is pretty high on his prices. I have not looked to see how much he is actually selling, but it seems he is trying (maybe not on purpose) to set the prices higher. I understand he is in it to make money, but it is hurting us too. Like when we tell someone to go look on GB for a estimate on value. They go to GB & see $350.00 (low or high? I have not been keeping track of their value.) 604 uppers being sold for $460, they in turn sell theirs at that price & soon the real value is inflated higher. Don't get me wrong, I have dealt with him before & with good results, but his prices are pretty high. |

But if there are bids he will allow the auction to run its course and not sell them to the outside offer. |
