School me up. This stuff doesn’t look half bad. I trained with the condor stuff right now and it’s OK so why is this stuff so bad I shouldn’t consider it?

How can I find decent tactical gear? That’s a decent price that will hold up to some light to moderate training?

Thinking this:
Harness

Mag placard

I've used some Krydex stuff before and I'd put it in the better side of the cheap Chinese nylon.  If it fails it'll probably be in bad stitching somewhere.

Head over to the Tac Gear Forum and the gear queers and stitch bitches will fill you in on whatever details you want to know... and a lot you didn't want to know.

What kind of training are you looking to accomplish?

The phrase 'the mission drives the gear' comes into focus.

I have three levels of training gear:

1) A simple belt with a kydex holster, kydex dbl pistol mag pouch, dump pouch, TQ w/ carrier, blowout kit, and some AR mag carriers with pistol mag pouches piggy-backed on.

This is the rig I use 97% of the time, even for the bulk of classes I take.

2) A chest rig that holds a few AR mag pouches. I use this (in conjunction with the aforementioned belt) when attending a rifle course and I need to carry more than three mags.

This gets rarely used....

Lastly,

I have the proverbial 'Super-Alloy Combat Chassis.' Aka a full-blown plate carrier with rifle rate plates and all the trimmings. This is for only those courses that require armor (for ex: shoot-house or some night time courses) and for SHTF.

That rig is used even less than the chest rig.

I was at a course and the instructor was former SF and he told me that for the most part, most 'high speed' SF units run just simple belt rigs when doing flat range work. The heavy stuff is worn for Shoot-house/CQB training or dress rehearsals for a raid.

He described it like a football team only practicing in helmets and shoulder pads, as opposed to practicing in full pads.

So, basically, roll with a rig that allows you to carry a couple of reloads of spare ammo, a TQ, and a GSW (blowout) kit.

The important thing to focus on when practicing is working the gun and building proficiency with your marksmanship and gun handling skills.
