Ok so I installed this trigger on my build AR no problems, I go to fire it and I have three consecutive what I think are bump fire's totaling 6 rounds with three pulls of the trigger. This is the first time this has happened on this build. This is the third trigger grouping I have run through it " didn't like the feel of the others" and have haven't had this problem before. I got the gun home took the lower off and started inspecting the rifle and noticed something strange. When I release the hammer by pulling the trigger the hammer goes forward then " while keeping the trigger pulled" I reset the hammer. Once I release the trigger the hammer goes forward again, I'm pretty sure this isnt correct. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do I love the feel of the trigger but would like to only have one round fired for one pull of the trigger.

Are you pulling the trigger and letting the trigger go forward quickly, or is your finger dancing around the trigger face releasing the trigger slowly?

Also, how tight are your set screws?

I am slowly squeezing, then slowly releasing but releasing quickly will also make the hammer fall. Set screws are tight, I'm thinking after observing it might be the sear wasn't set right from the factory. I'm waiting to see if Timney emails me or calls in response to me contacting them. If I don't get anything by tomorrow evening I'm gunna start messing with the sear to ensure it is engaging properly on reset. I'm almost positive that's the problem just want to make sure it's not some common problem with an easy fix or a massive defect Timney knows about.

As stupid as it may sound, a buddy of mine had the same issue.  He removed the trigger, cleaned the area on the lower really well and reinstalled the trigger. Problem went away after.  Not sure what was the problem but I can only speculate that one side may have been tightened down more than the other.

If not, it does sound like an out of spec sear. I had that same issue with a different trigger and manufacturer.

Just got off the phone with Timney they said send it in. Apparently after talking with the tech the disconnector wasn't set correctly  and it's easier for them to replace it for me. The Allen to adjust is a .050 and normally people strip it out is what he said. So I guess I'm sending it in.

Yet another Timney issue. This is my shocked face.

Disco release problem, with the hammer released from the disco with the trigger not almost all the way forward at rest first.  Instead, the hammer is released from the disco with the trigger about half way forward instead, and causes nothing but non-intended bumping problems (read will be even worse when the rifle is shot from the bench).

Send the unit back in to be corrected or replaced.
