So I was digging around in the back of my ammo stores and found a couple boxes of Federal Bulk Pack!! Sweet right? Well as I was loading them onto chargers And I happened to notice this little guy....
The crack goes about 80% of the way around and then travels vertically up the case about 40% of the way.  I inspected the rest of the cases in the boxes and they seem to be fine, just looks like there was a bit of porosity in the brass before they started forming it and it resulted in a crack. Thought it would be neat to share.

I think we just got a sneak peek at Federals new 'Show-Fire' rearward ventilated ammunition line. 
Here's a blurb from the upcoming add. ..."The visible flash coming out of the chamber lets you know that your round has successfully fired." Seriously though, there was a severe lack of QC going on there. That round is an injury(and a lawsuit) waiting to happen. |
