Bought a scope ror my Sig 716, Sightron 3.5-10×42 lrmoa, in February. Trying out a ladder test with some ammo today and notice near the end that the reticle is now canted about 10 degrees. I'm calling the place I bought the optic tomorrow. Not here to bash, just need to know if any of my ladder data is reliable? I shot at 300 yards, dialed up to put it on paper. I noticed that the higher the load, the more the rounds moved right and actually put two rounds off paper before adding left windage.
Best groups I have shot have been 1 1/2 moa at best and now I am doubting less and less that it is the rifle. Would a canted reticle have other internal issues that would affect consistency? Also, it wasn't canted when new and mounted. |

Are you sure just the reticle is canted and the whole scope didn't twist loose in the rings? Absolutely. Leveled the rifle, leveled the mount, leveled the scope off turret cap and used feeler gauges between scope flat and base. Even pulled the scope, flipped it over and layed my level on the flat and aimed the reticle at a wall corner. Reticle is canted. |
