| Anyone here owned a SWFA Scope? What is your feedback on the scope? |
|
I have yet to read a bad thing about. Most issues people have are individual preferences. They are supposed to be very rugged and well made. I am still waiting on my Tax day facebook combo However I did pay the $200 extra to upgrade to the 5-25x50 will illuminated reticle. Also in the same price range are Vortex scopes. |

I have a SS 10X and SS 16X. I haven't used the 16X as I bought it used and haven't been home yet to mount it on anything. My biggest complaint with the 10X is the turrets are mushy. I have several Vortex Vipers and I like the turrets better and think the glass is a hair better. The new SS 3-15X supposedly has better turrets and some people have said the glass is better as well. Combined with the FFP reticle I think it is an excellent option in the sub $1000 range. |

I have the 10x, 16x and 20x SWFA Super Snipers. They are good to go. The 20x is hard to get your eye positioned when sun is going down or on overcast days.
But that is common with high magnification scopes. I have only bore sighted my 10x but it looks nice and clear. |

I just got my Tax Day scopes last week, and I also upgraded to the 5-20x50 illuminated version. While the illumination on the 1-6x is pretty dang nice and bright..almost daylight bright, the illumination on the 5-20x is rather disappointing...very dim. Level 11 brightness on the 5-20x is like about a level 3 on the 1-6x. I also have a 5-20x Trijicon and the SWFA 5-20x has noticeably better optics. Looking at the box, both scopes are "Made in Japan" and are pretty beefy/hefty. These are my first SWFA scopes and other than the illumination on the 5-20x, I'm very impressed with the quality of the SWFA copes. |
| I had a SS 10x MOA on a 308 AR and it was good to go. Repeatable hits out over 700 yards on many occasions. I have a brand new SS 16x MIL one on a 338 WM and I think the glass is a little better. I don't have but about 10 rounds through it so far but I like it a lot and the new reticle is sweet. I've had a SS 3x9 on a custom MK12 MOD0 that I built in .264 LBC for a few years now and it's phenomenal. I even got 1st round hits on balloons at 650 and 700 yards with it before. Solid scopes and solid value, and if you ever have issue I hear SWFA backs their products. |
