Just curious who out there is using a spikes buffer as opposed to a regular buffer and why. Do you notice any difference, for example between a standard H2 buffer opposed to the spikes T2?

Are there any overall size differences?

H2 buffer uses 2 Tungsten weights vs Spikes uses Tungsten powder.

Run what works in your rifle if it works with standard car run that if it runs with H1 run that.  Just depends on what runs well in your rifle.

I'm using a Spike's H2 buffer now in my rifle. I'd say there is a slight difference in recoil management, not that a 5.56 has much anyhow, but I've only put about 100 rounds through the rifle since I installed it so with more range time I'll be able to tell more. I don't have the specs on the factory buffer but my rifle is a 5.56 DPMS Oracle if that helps.

High speed video has shown the spikes buffer is less effective at stopping bolt bounce then a standard buffer.

I do run a st-t2 as in a semi bolt bounce is not as much of a problem, won't change for now. I bought it before seeing the video. I'd only buy standard from now on.

I have Spikes ST-T2 buffers in most of my carbines, bolt bounce is not a problem in any of mine that I'm aware of.

I have seen a video that shows slight bolt bounce, but I have no fear of that making any difference in my rifles.

In a few I have H2 buffers, they work identically, but I have not taken any hi-speed video, and doubt I will worry.

They do feel slightly different (in hand), having powder as opposed to the 3 weights (2 tungsten,1 steel), and the weight is slightly different- but swapping them back and forth is indistinguishable in my own testing. They all work. There is a felt difference in H1 or carbine buffers though. I'll use ST-T2 buffers in any future builds also.

All the videos I saw they all seemed to bounce a little bit except for the rifle length buffers.

If you have bolt bounce than use one of the Sprinco, Wolf or Tubbs Springs

I've done some more research and most people can't tell the difference between the T2 and a H2 except for the noise. But for the same price why not try one.
