Hello, I am trying to find the person who had built an AR-15 receiver from sheets of alum. put together with button screws.  There was a long post here about it about a year ago.  I tried to locate it but have had no luck.  If anyone knows anything about it, please post a message.

ARmed223...You might want to ask User556 or StormBringer if they remember who that was. I don't recall the name but that sure was some fine work. I haven't seen a post about it for a long time...for all I know, the guy's a ghost...Bud

I think this is the link that you are looking for. www.geocities.com/elmgrove1765/ This is the main page of his site. Click on "Project 6" or "P6" to go to the AR project page. Or just click this link;

www.geocities.com/elmgrove1765/project6/project6.html

It's a really amazing piece of work, and the authors log-in name is "user556". He still posts on this forum from time-to-time, and I think he has a couple of other very interesting projects "in-the-mill".

Hi,
Solid models in autocad have been complete
for some time now. I have to admit I have become lazy in terms of fully completingt he 2D blueprints ...(there are so many dimension lines). I assumed that since the ar15
blueprints are available, anyone can
duplicate the work I did ...

Hi,
I am still here....
the url for the final post on the scratchbuilt rxvr is:
www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=82806
The project has been completed for quite a while now - I am working on some other stuff now ;)

You can still find the post if you search,
but once it gets 6 months old, I guess it will be gone for good. The webpage that
Doug/dropbombnow posted is the site where
I post my projects.

User556,

I followed this thread from the beginning back when. I was totally awed then, and I still am! What a fantastic project. Congrats!

Hi,
I would like to keep the 3D plans and release the 2D dwgs (for free). If you are trying to figure
out some dimension of the pieces from the
blueprint and the photos, I am more than
happy to help. I was wondering,
when the 2D plans become available, how
will I distribute them? The geocities
page has very low bandwidth ....

Hi,
the hammer pin and trigger pin on the scratchbuilt rxvr are standard sized.
The safety lever is the standardsemiauto only type. However, I installed the safety lever so "up" is fire, and "backwards" is safe - had to do it this way since the heads of the cap screws are blocking the lever the other way.(I used magnets instead of detents so this
can work). The only other custom part is a modified buffer retainer - I used a simple round rod and locktite to hold it in place - it seemed easier than using the standard spring loaded part
