I have a 1 year old rifle, with the upper assembled by a shop in Jacksonville, Florida.  It has a 13" Troy TRX Standard rail over a Daniel Defense 14.5" barrel, with a DD low-profile gas block and a pinned flash hider.  If I wanted to change the rail to something lighter, would I need to un-pin the flash hider to remove the Troy rail?  I've dabbled in this process on my S&W 15-22, but have never had the desire to disassemble my 5.56 rifle, yet I can't help but wonder how much lighter this would be with a different rail.  I'll attach a pic...and thanks for any help you can offer.

To remove the rail.... It should slide off with no problem.

The problem arises due to Troy using their own barrel nut which limits you to their family of rails.

The gas block won't slide off over the muzzle device and I'm not 100% sure the barrel nut will clear the gas block.

Thanks for the help.  I figured it wouldn't be easy.  I'd like to be able to stick with the type of quad-rail I have, but would rather use something like a Spike's / Seekins or a DD rail to save some weight. Guessing the difference might not be worth the cost if I had to send it out to have it un-pinned though.
