So I got a Rdias (Yes its registered) with ALL M16 internals. with the Rdias not installed the gun will dry fire, but when I install the Rdias I can't get the rifle to dry fire. the trigger is really hard and cant be pulled back any ideas?? its in a preban ar15 made by colt. I really don't want to take it somewhere so somebody can charge me an arm and a leg to look at it.

thanks

You installed a full auto bolt carrier as well, right?  If not, the auto sear is catching the hammer like it's supposed to, and the carrier is never releasing it.

Glad you got it figured out.  There is no difference between the full and semi auto bolts - just between the bolt carriers, BTW.

never mind i was looking at a youtube video about someone installing a dias and it looked different but apparently it was the right way.. i don't know i might have to take it somewhere. everything is correct all m16 parts verified the hammer just wont fall when dias is in place and i cant figure it out. back to the drawing board

Can you take detailed pics of the upper and lower internals?

Also, does your lower have the slot for it to correctly sit in there and stay put or is it straight?
The one on the left is a high shelf and will NOT accept a DIAS. The one on the right is a low shelf and WILL accept a DIAS.

need to see bolt carrier.  without FA bolt carrier, all operations will end in failure.  You have a profound lack of understanding of the full auto firing cycle.

Sorry I can't give you anything definitive, but something about the way the sear fits doesn't look right. Are you sure you have a "low shelf" PWA lower? When did you get it?

http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=195649

Quoted:
Without modification, a DIAS will fit:
Colt pre-90 (unblocked)
Bushmaster
Cavalry Arms
Essential Arms
Sendra
Eagle early production
Palmetto/SGW/Olympic early production

With very slight modification:
Olympic Arms later and current production (relieve interior about .015")

With more extensive modifications:
Colt blocked with pin-in block

With somewhat major machining:
Colt current production (high shelf)
Armalite/Eagle current production (high shelf)
Rock River
PWA
DPMS
ASA
Century/FAC
Hesse
(also just about anything else)

This thread speaks more about PWA lowers and their compatibility with RDIAS.
