| Never payed alot of attention to buffers and buffer springs so have a question..The lead weights that are in the buffer..Do they serve a purpose or are they just there for added weight to the stock at the rear?Maybe the added weight is neccesary for proper function..I am only asking in regards to my Sons CMMG dedicated .22 as we really do not need the buffer anyway but we like to keep it in place but definitley do not need the weights for sure in the .22 but just curious about if the 5.56 need the weights in there to function properly..,. Thanks |

I am only asking in regards to my Sons CMMG dedicated .22 With it used in that config, you don't need any of the internals in the buffer - you could empty the whole thing. You could even leave the poly bumper off the end of it, and throw away the rollpin. |
