I am trying to screw together my first upper. I have the upper receiver, and apex midlength free float handguard. I am ready to buy the barrel, I was looking at this one

here is a link to the handguard

I am not sure the midlength tube will completely cover the gas system, and I am not sure which gas block I would need to work with this. Can somebody point me in the right direction? If I cannot use this barrel what would be a better choice? I would really prefer a stainless barrel ideally in black

The free float rail you have is mid-length and the barrel you have linked is rifle length that is going to leave your gas block and about 2-3" of your tube exposed. You are going to need a carbine length barrel for that rail to completely cover the gas system including the gas block or a mid-length barrel that will leave the gas block exposed but cover the gas tube.
