Can someone recommend some quality ear muffs that won't break the bank?
Thanks |
| I use the Peltor Tactical Sport electronic. Stupid name, good hearing protection. They work great outdoors but IMO don't have enough decibel reduction when shooting indoors. When I shoot indoors I use foam plugs with the Peltors. Even then I can hear conversations better than I could with my old non-electronic ear muffs. The shell has a recess that allows for a good cheek weld. |

When at the range under an enclosure I too add foam plugs for extra insurance; out in the open air with no reverb they work great even with the level turned all the way up. I can hear better with them on and the volume turned up than I can with no hearing protection at all. |
I've been using a pair of Dillon HP1 muffs for the past dozen years or so. The sound reduction and quality of the amplified sound are better than any of the more expensive sets I've tried. The only thing better IMO is a set of electronic in-the-ear plugs.
