I picked up a CMMG midlingth upper Friday. When I tried to sight it in on Sat it was shooting over the top of my target. I ran the front sight pin up 10 clicks and it was still shooting 12in high at 100 yds. The front sight base is F marked. What do I need to do to fix this problem.

Thanks

It is a flattop upper with carry handle. Also a Midwest Ind.  mid length 2 piece free float rail.

Do you have any photos of the front & rear sights? Also, what brand of carry handle are you using?

WeeWee, did you turn the front sight up 10 clicks, or turn it in the direction of the up arrow 10 clicks?

Don't have any pics. No camera. I tried two handles one is a Cardinal the other one is marked with a square but I don't know who makes it.

I went 10 clicks up on the front. The sight pin is higher than the wings on the side of the sight base.

Do you have any measurements on the carry handles? The reason I am asking is, I recently read something about carry handles being different heights. I have one with a square, CMMG I believe, and it zeroed well on an LMT 14.5" upper.

Unless you have funky sights not meant for that rifle configuration, then the upper needs to go back to the manufacture to be check out.
