I reciently bought a DPMS Ar-15 Carbine and with it i got 100rds of RORG 93 .223 ammo with it. During my first shoot i fired close to 40rds. After the 40 things went bad. My gun started to chip the rear of the bullet off (Where the ejector would be) and jaming the bulliet in the gun?? I then tried Wolf .223 and had the same problem. Has anyone else had a problem with these in there Ar-15. A army bud of mine said its because i am using cheap ammo? I can't find a reason for the gun to brake the bulliet. Please help me out anyway you can..... Thanks, Joe Satter |

Ditto, before the rifle was taken on it's madden voyage/first outing, it should have been fully cleaned and lube. As for until the rifle is broken in, most jamming problems are solved by just a good cleaning (chamber scrubbing included) and re-lube (CLP), and with the ammos listed, this sounds to be the case. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=7&t=203988 |
Yes, clean the rifle, remembering to lube the upper bearing surfaces with CLP, and take the rifle out for another spin, with maybe this time, using new brass case ammo instead of the old surplus or steel coated ammo. |
| i have a bushmaster a2, i have a problem after 20. 60 rounds that the caseing gets stuck in the chamber, also it tears the rim off as you said, i ahve used everything from olympic ammo to winchester, black hill etc, seems as though it expands so much it will not extract |
If your getting 20 to 60 rounds down the barrel and the problems are starting, best guess is you using something like Hoppes to clean the barrel, and not getting all the copper solvent out of the chamber. Further more, I would dare to guess that instead of using CLP to lube the rifle, you are using standard gun oil (again maybe even Hoppes) and making the chamber break in process even harder than normal. And to point out, it take around a thousand rounds of brass case ammo fired through the barrel before you even want to attempt running Wolf ammo in the Bushmaster. Give this link a quick read and see if it solves the problem, www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=7&t=203988 P.S. Welcome to the site!!! |
