I am sure it is opinion, but is there a right or wrong on light position?

I have a LaRue 7" handguard and I bought the LaRue light mount (LT-606) and a SF 6PL with a Z59 clickie tailcap.  I was thinking that the 6PL should be mounted on the left side of my BM in case you have to turn it on/off in a hurry you then dont have to take your hand/finger off the trigger.  The left hand will be on the LaRue FUG.

Is my thinking correct?

Try both for a while and see which you like better. Its really a matter of personal preference after all. I used to run my lights on the left side with my forward hand on the "broomstick" I have since switched to running my lights on my right side as I found in the high ready position my lights were restricting my view. For most people this shouldn't be a big problem but on deployment to countries where people shoot at you it pays to watch for trip hazards. Just my .02 and of course YMMV.
