So in classic fashion, I ask my father if he has an extra bolt if he has one, and he drops off a box of random parts, mostly bolt carriers, firing pins, and then this...

it looks like it may thread onto the end of an AR barrel, some type of brake or something.

any help identifying it would be awesome.

...oh, and there were no bolts in the random parts box either...

Thanks

Depends on the thread pitch(if any threads) and the size of the hole the barrel goes into. I also see what looks like a set screw.
It is certainly made to look like a AK74 muzzle device.

Thanks for the help.  looks damn similar to that link.  funny what you'll find in a box of "AR" parts from dad...

it does have threads, but i have neither the means nor the knowledge of how to discern them.

so i don't have an AK, dont have the patients to figure it out.  so if any of you who helped me ID this (above this post) want it, i'd be glad to throw it into a small envelope and send if your way (as a thank you).

i'll give it a day or so for one of you's then i'll put it up for grabs otherwise.

that's a nice offer, but I don't have a gun to park it on.

Bushmaster used to make a AK-74 style brake for AR's.  Never seen one in the flesh, but this might be one?
