I'm looking to buy a Trijicon ACOG TA01 in a few months, and I just want to make sure I want the type of reticle that will best suit my taste. Well, what better way than to see actual pictures of peoples scopes, looking through at the reticle! So, this is my request... PLEASE post pictures of scope reticles from your posession. Thanks. -Covert P.S. Not all pics have to be of ACOGs, but a lot would be nice :-) |

The original TA01 (20") or TA01 NSN (16") designed for one eye closed though focused on distant target, static platform, stadia lines are equal distances at set ranges for BDC. Newer models such as the TA31RCO-A4 (20") or TA31RCO-M4 (16") designed for both eyes open to give equalibrium during running combat or in vehicle mounted patrol. No pics because the first series would look blurry unless focused on distant target which only then the reticule becomes clear, newer series needs both eyes open- so that image super imposes over non-dominant eye thus mil markings look fuzzy on the sides. Model series in between with fiber optic are really just upgrades of the first series. Basically these optics look best with the human eye either one open or both depending on model to get the full picture. |

The 1st, 2nd, and 5th pictures weren't "enhanced" or "zoomed" by anything was it? Seemed a lot bigger than the 3rd and 4th magnifications. Were they the usual 4x? -Covert |
Duffy and Greeno, those pics are GREAT. The COOOOOLD vs. da Ocean? I grew up in the "Windy-City", so I'll stick with Duffy's locale! Too many damn cold nights in Lake Geneva and the Dells as well Greeno! Burrrrrrrrrr

Yep I zoom until I find an acceptiable sight picture, that's why the magification varies from picture to picture. I used to live about a mile south of Neptune's Nest, never did see its attraction other than for a biker's hang out

# 1 # 2 # 3 ACOG's are beautifull pieces of equipment. In my opinion, the reticle is very tiny in the FOV. This pic through my TA11 is pretty accurate to the size of the BDC reticle and the BAC. Just my opinion and hope it helps. Take care !! |

Always appreciated! Thanks alot and take care to you also! the reticles in all of the ACOGs are real small, that's why I was always so reluctant on purchasing one. I've been accustomed to the regular Mil-Dot reticles, with pretty thick crosshairs and it would take up the whole tube, so that's why ACOGs felt foreign to me when I've picked them up and looked through them. |

This just goes to show that we all have different preferences. The day I took those pictures, I was comparing the Aimpoint and two Tripowers. I came to the conclusion that I like the chevron better than the dot. That said, I am keeping the Aimpoint, because I still like it, and don't consider it to be inferior. |
