For my dad's birthday I bought all the parts and we built this together.

Delton Lower w/ LPK
Aero Precision Upper
Dark Storm Industries BCG
DSI 16" Chromoly barrel
GunTec 7" free float handguard
Leapers Stock kit
Magpul BUIS

I got all the parts for about $1100 (not including shipping on some). I probably paid too much but we've got a gun in our hands and put 60 rounds through it today. The function test went great. We had a little trouble while installing the gas block, but after the first couple of rounds it cycled perfectly.

Also we plan to use this for prairie dogs and coyotes, so if anyone knows of a scope that would be good for that and isn't too expensive, let us know! I got all my information for this build on AR15.com so thanks for all your help everyone!

Was gonna post this too. That rail seems too short for the gas system. Get a 10-15inch rail on that bad boy and you are golden!

I agree. The basic build looks like a winner though.

Thanks guys. I didn't even notice that but now that you mention it, it does look pretty weird. I just tried to order all the parts carbine length but I'll pick up a longer hand guard soon. Also, why is this a problem? Is it ok to shoot it before I get the new rail?

Yes the gun will continue to function just fine the way it is. Most people just don't like to have the low pro gas block exposed like that.  It's simply asthetics

aesthetics, plus the gas block will get hot as you shoot and a longer rail that covers it would give you a little more space to get down the barrel and not burn your support hand.

Nice looking build OP!

wrap some bacon over the gas block while you at the range. there you have it, some actual use for your gas block.

Haha there's an idea!

Thanks for the info everyone. Does anybody have suggestions on optics for coyotes and prairie dogs?
Thanks.
