Totally agree. They changed it because it was a weak point or something? Before they were using a standard barrel nut and something about how the tube attached to the nut was a weak point so they engineered a stronger barrel nut dedicated to this tube.  I'm trying to remember where I saw that. But I totally agree the old version looks way way better.

I plan to:

A. Convince someone to sell me a PRI SF trade or

B. find original full address FSB, ARMS 38 which the spacing (like the trade in uppers), and find an older hand guard.

What about drilling an additional hole in mine? Is that totally out of the question?

Eta: won't be able to match glass' ownage but here's some parts pics of my replica:

If you haven't noticed I mounted the Harris BRMS directly to the tube by removing the bottom rail section and putting a Harris brand nut and backing plate. I originally did this to try to save weight because I don't plan to ever want to remove the bipod and if you do want to it's super simple. But as I grow to desire to be as correct as possible I think I want an ARMS mount for it

Lastly, the money shot:

A1, A2, and SOPMOD were the most frequent.  Others have been spotted hither and yon.

A1s were standard. Anything else was user preference. Sopmods, N1s, waffles, A2s were fair game.

I have my M16A1 stock and I swear it looks 10 times longer in the pics than it feels in person. Especially the side profile shots. When my AEM5 gets out of the clink I hope that will help. I think that helps give it some length the other way to offset it. I admit I want to try a sopmod (which I've never been a fan of on any gun, just personal pref) but I personally feel the A1 is the essence/character of the rifle.

Last time shooting her.. deploying again sometime this month

This is the grouping from the clip above.. not as good of a shot as I used to be because I don't have a lot of trigger time anymore thanks to the Corps (even though I'm a grunt, we rarely shoot anymore, and when we do it's usually an ammo dump)

From their Industry forum:

Correct...kind of.

Not a discontinued item but not really a limited production run. We're just behind is all. If it wasn't for our .gov sales guy snaking most of this run, we would have enough to fill most of the back orders. There are more runs in line and the next batch SHOULD be complete in the next 6-8 weeks or so. I believe that run will fill all open backorders, and should leave us some to keep on the shelf.

The Lone Survivor movie really drummed up a lot of interest in Mk12 clones, and even American Sniper contributed to the demand as well. Sales on these rails before the movies came out were kind of "meh" so we stuck them on the back burner and thought about discontinuing them. Once the demand skyrocketed, we were kind of caught by surprise to be honest. Also, we had some trouble getting the raw materials in on time which only delayed things further.

ETA: I'm still waiting on a picture of someone in a ghillie suit and face paint / re-breather to pop up out of their above ground pool with a Mk12.

PRI/Douglas 1:7. I zeroed with CBC 77gr OTM but that grouping was shot with SSA 77gr OTM hence it's a bit low.

Non lever stop 22H rings really are the cats meow. I managed to score a pair for my Mod 1 and visually they are far more pleasing than the standard ones I had previously. I know the levers are an updated design but wow, I never thought they would seem that different.

My chamber is so freakin tight. I got a 223 Wylde chamber from CLE and it is unhappy about M193. Anyone else have a similar experience. I was told by someone who's info I trust that a tight target chamber is good and that shooting I am shooting 55 from something that wants a skinnier pill like 69-77 etc.

I thought I read on here that someone else had a similar experience?

Skinnier meaning a different shape. Am I totally nuts? Have I completely fallen off the haywagon? Anybody?

I guess I felt like a 223 wylde chamber should shoot M193 but when I chamber a round the bolt won't close about 1/8th of the time. And to eject and unfired case using the charge handle is a struggle. She's super tight. Shoots like a laser though. 69 grain was 1/2 MOA. I shot some 77 too and the bolt never struggled to close. I didn't think to try extracting a 69 or 77 though cause I didn't know it was an issue yet. So I'm going to pick up some 77 now and try it. Sorry I'm rambling.

You shouldn't have any issues chambering M193, or any commercial ammo for that matter.

Thanks guys. twitchy that's what I thought too. Man this CLE barrel has been one thing after another. I guess other than it being 17.75 long, and the chamber being super right it's been a great barrel haha

Their "match" chamber is a slightly different shape and a hair tighter, but you should be GTG with the Wylde and 193.

So I got some Nosler 77grn 223 and some Federal Gold Medal SMK 77grn. They all chamber and extract just fine. I did 10 rounds of Federal M193 and 8 went in and out just fine but one was Kind of sticky and one was really stuck. Like mortar stuck.

I planned to stick to the 77 any way, but i would like to know I can shoot m193 if I need to. Should I call CLE? I hate to complain...

That's strange, I doubt its the ogive of the 55gr bullet that is giving you problems.  I'll check some M193 against some Mk262 when I get home with my comparator.  Maybe its the case or case neck or somewhere else on the body of the round that is causing the problems, regardless I think you should contact CLE.

Negative.

I had the opportunity, just didn't have the cash at the time.

If you're buying, NF NAV-SPEC 2.5-10x24.

If it were my money; Leupold 112633.

Think I may have cracked the MK262 code! Averaging 2760ish fps, holding about 1/2 moa. So in theory, if I make this my go to load for my mod1....I should be able to shoot this out to 800, and be on point with my mod1 turret??? In theory....

The NF 2.5-10x32 is better.

Or if you want to save a few hundred, Leupold 2.5-8x36 M2 w/ Illuminated TMR.

Is the TMR the correct reticle for the Leupold scopes? I'm trying to decide on optics as well and was unsure on that one.

Guess it depends on which scope you're talking about. Many have been used. But in regards to the TS-30 A2, yes. It only comes in TMR, nothing else.

Thanks. The TS-30 A2 is one I'm considering along with the 3.5-10x40 and the NF 2.5-10x32. I'm kind of leaning towards more mag and the matched turrets/reticle on the NF right now.

False.  Well, it only currently comes in TMR.  I definitely owned and sold an older 3x9 made in 2002 that was marked TS30 A2 that was a mildot.

Go with NF 2.5-10x32 with Mil-R reticle and mil adjustments

Better and correct are 2 different things. If you still had a mk12, you'd know that.

That being said, TS-30A2 would be my choice.

But it is correct

2.5-8x36 leupold is just like the TS30, but easier to find.

Don't need laser etched mounting guides or a battery cap retention cord....that shit will eventually break.

Shit, I'm willing to bet half the people in here lose sleep at night knowing they have lever stops on their ARMS mounts and wonder if their gas tube roll pins are "correct"

I was commenting on the NF 2.5-10x32 not being correct.

I agree entirely on the Leupold.

There is a NF NavSpec 2.5-10x24 on ebay, now up to $2250 with TWO days to go:

Its not mine and I am not bidding, just posting in case anyone with deeper pockets wants to grab it.

Finally got out and shot the MK12 clone (PRI 18" Mark 12 Mod 0 SPR 5.56mm Gen2 Upper - 1/7 Twist), with some Hornady Match 75 Grain BTHP.  I was not too happy with the groups that I managed to get out of the ammo at 100yds.  I should add that I am shooting with a stock mil-spec trigger, wondering should I see any improvements with this PMC 77 Grain SMK OTM Match Ammunition (anyone shooting this stuff)?  Planning on installing a Geissele Hi-Speed DMR trigger before I head back out with it....

Scope rings are on backwards, maybe that has something to do with it

Some people claim to shoot amazing groups with mil-spec triggers but for me a decent trigger is paramount for accuracy
