Welp, got a brodband8 Mk16 10.5" rail and a ChemTrailZ Airborne charging handle; anyone else from the thread want to contribute? lol All I need now is a tan EXPS3-0, Colt 4-position receiver extension, and a Geissele S3G. Got the DD 11.5" barrel with pinned LPG and the other odds n' ends on the way. But if anyone has an S3G they want to get rid of, let me know. The rest of it I more or less have sorted at good prices, but not finding any decent sales on G triggers at the moment. |

Friggin' OpticsPlanet. At 10am this morning, they emailed me to say the DD 11.5" w/ LPG barrel I ordered is backordered for at least 1-2 weeks, and here are some alternatives (they offered me a DD 10.3" -- as if I don't have enough of those, lol). Next thing you know, by 5pm on the same day, they're sending me confirmation the 11.5" has shipped. Completely on top of their business. |

| OP is a shit show. Their antics during Covid were wild. I had a sizable ammo order placed right as that all kicked off only for it to go on backorder. After several months it was canceled with a note about reallocating supply and resources to meet a greater demand- ie re-listing it at higher prices. |

All that's left is to decide on the upper receiver. Do I dig into the clone stash for a C-stamp, or just go with a CAGE code? As spiffy as it'd look, it almost seems like a waste to use a C-stamp when a CAGE is correct. Not fully decided, but I'm leaning toward keeping the C stash for a rainy day. |

 Barrel finally came in and everything is more or less complete; just need to Rocksett the muzzle device and add the UID. Naturally, 3-position Arc-fire with an S3G for maximum 850rpm goodness. I know the original plan was a CAGE upper, but I was minding my own business, and this C-stamp came along and just perfectly matched the anodizing on the lower. Went through about 6 Colt C and CAGE uppers aside from this one, and most were noticeably a shade or two lighter. But this one was almost a perfect match. Haven't shot it yet, but just based on initial handling, I'll be honest: I prefer the balance of a 10.3" CQBR. The extra length noticeably changes the balance point. All the same, I'll give it at least a few thousand rounds before I make any determination. |

One thing i can say from experience is that a complete G 11.5" URGI gun with .068"-ish GP, running a standard carbine spring and G H2 buffer will run an ASD FRT like a raped ape. As in i held the trigger back almost as hard as i could to try to induce a malfunction and it refused to quit. Of course it cause some excessive wear on the FRT, but that also still works perfectly as well. G guns are excellent FRT hosts. |
 Took it out yesterday and ran 5 mags through it with zero issues. About the same suppressed RPM as a 10.3" 0.070", maybe a touch lower. I do have to say, the Mk16 definitely gets hot a lot faster than a RIS II, lol. Even after 2-3 mags of burst fire, I barely even notice the RIS II getting more than warm. With the MK16, 2 mags of bursts spread over 5 minutes or so, and that fucker is getting toasty -- even with gloves. Just the trade-off for a smaller diameter and lighter weight, I suppose. Long term, it probably won't replace a CQBR Block II as my main shooting/training gun, but I'm going to give it a good go before I say for sure. |
