Finally after a year of dreaming i started my first build. im not really sure if i saved any money building my own, but in the long run i think i did a little bit because i would have replaced the stock and the grip or maybe i just want to convince my self that i have

For people that are looking to do a build i suggest two things- get a mag vice block, that would have help me out a bit but i was lucky to have my GF to assit me. or you can build one. 2nd do not get the tapco stock wrench it didnt fit i had to file both teeth so they would fit in the knoches on the nut, but thats who my local gun shop goes through. other then that the build went pretty good.

Now a question i have and i hope i dont get to much ish for this. but when the hammer isnt down as in the picture i CAN NOT turn the SELECTOR to SAFE it moves mabye 1/4'' in the direction of the SAFETY but then it stops. is this Normal? im not familiar with AR's.

Yes that is normal, the selector only moves when the hammer is back. Nice build.

Very nice.  I would blur out your S/N on the receiver though, it's not good to have it floating around the internet.

Next time you can save a few bucks if you shop around a little more.  There are site sponsors here that offer most of the parts you listed for much cheaper prices.  Overall though it's a great build and good luck.  What type of upper combo are looking to put on it?

Thanks for the commenst and for answering my question! im thinking Daniel Defense upper or Noveske, i might go with BCM. yah im alittle mad i payed as much as i did on some of the parts but i went to a local gun shop and was asking a lot of questions so then i deiced to just go through them and help out the little shop.

Very Nice Build so far!

I don't think the prices you paid were that bad, and are pretty close to if not msrp for most of the items, but good call on helping out the local shop.  All the small businesses need it right now.

Good on you for helping the small shop that helped you.  I only see a couple things you could have saved on by shoping on-line.  I would go with the Noveske upper to match your kick ass lower.  Just my .02
