I have a Bushmaster A2M4 that I will use if needed for home protection, but mainly plinking and alittle messing around at the deer lease. Have an Aimpoint ML3 mounted on the A2.
Will a better trigger help with my groupings at the range? If so which one?

A trigger will help but for your purposes it is a matter of is it worth the cost for what you use your weapon for.  A trigger will not improve the weapons abiltiy to shoot more accurate but may help the nut behind the trigger operate the weapon smoother therfore improving accuracy.    Maybe a 2 stage from Rock River.  Or a RRA 2 stage worked over by White Oak.  These two run around $100.  Or perhaps a Geissele trigger in the $280 range.  There are various trigger threads so perhaps they can offer more.

I have the Chip McCormic and like it alot. I allowed me to shrink my groups considerbly. The standard AR trigger was just too heavy, long and gritty for a good group, for me at least. I like the drop in non adjustable feature. I noticed a few folks with adjustable tirggers were having doubles and tripples and full auto before they got them adjusted. I did not want to fool with that. I have the curved trigger single stage, might be 4lbs, very little take up and over travel, very crisp. I did have to take off a small amount of metal from one side of the tang I guess. It was binding inside my lower. But my lower is tight so....
Srank my groups from a couple of inches to this.
The flyers are me, 110yrds.

The Jewell trigger shrank my groups so much on my my varmint ar I put one in my lightweight blaster. I am pretty fair shot but stock triggers suck.

+1 on replacing with a decent aftermarket unit.

I've tried Bushmaster, Compass Lake, Jewell, SR-25 Knights' and White Oak Tuned RRA.

Settled on SR-25 KMC for my match gun, and the White Oak-Tuned RRA for my plinker.

There are plenty of high-proced units out there and it all depends on your shooting needs. But a decent entry level "match" trigger will make a difference, imho, for most recreational shooters.

If you have the bucks and the ability, the high end "super match grades" are worth their weight in gold if you can justofy the expense. But they don't really feel that much better than a cheaper, properly tuned "mid-grade" like the RRA set up properly.

YMMV!

Shit.......10 Ar's!!!

You need to buy your wife some flowers quick before she runs off from you. No she isn't going to run off with another man. She's going to run off with all your rifles, sell them, AND GO LOUNGE AROUND ON SOME BEACH SOMEWHERE!

I've heard some criticism about it being necessary to buy 3 Jewell AR triggers just to get one perfect one. Something about the parts being cut at the factory with a dremel wheel and then grinding-galling and needing constant readjustment.

Have you found some of your Jewell triggers to be crankier or lcreepier then others? I'm mostly a paper puncher and CREEP DRIVES ME NUTS, SO I DON'T WANT IT IN ANY OF MY TRIGGERS!

I refuse to pay the price of the Giessels. The Jewells are on sale right now too at Midway.

OK silly question, what is the difference in a single and two stage trigger.
What situation would you need one or the other?

Just buy a 2 stage Gieselle trigger and you will never look back.  Buy right once and never buy again.  I have replaced both of my Jewells with Geiselle's and I must say that I have not had a better trigger in a gun.

Well then it sounds like you have already chosen your path.  The Jewells are good but they do not compare to Geiselle triggers.  If you refuse to pay for a Geiselle you have obviously not spent any time using one.
