I need some help making a decision on what to buy. As of tomorrow I should have my current AR sold ( Eagle Arms , Dissipater w/ SS BBL ) , and my plan is to use that money plus some extra to purchase a Bushmaster Modular Carbine from Aim Surplus here in Ohio. Aim has them for $1125.00, this is the best price I have found so far. If some knows of a better price let me know. I have not heard much talk about the BMC other that a few people saying that they could build a very similar rifle for less, I even had a dealer at a show tell me that the Century’s modular carbine is just as good if not better ( but we all know how gun show advice can be) I’m drawn to the BMC for a few different reasons first being that it has many of the features that I have been wanting , ie rail system, ace stock , flat top W/ flip up sights. These are things that I could not add to my current AR without getting a separate upper. Second unlike a “custom” AR this rifle and all of the features would be guaranteed by Bushmaster. What I’m asking from you guys is both reviews of the BMC and if it is really worth waiting until September to make this purchase, or I guess a third option would be I take the cash to bullet fest and see what kind of deal I can sling ( I’m sure there will be some rifles to be had) Lastly is Bushmaster offering any type of coupon program for the adding of the flash suppressor after the ban? You should wait until Sept, then by an upper with the features you want. Also, the fronsite ,part #YHM-9360K, is made out of aluminum; not ideal, IMHO, for a BUIS. Addtionally the FF HG is also YHM but the Bushie rendition does not come with an end cap. It would definately be cheaper to buy a new upper and then buy a better frontsite and the FFs w/end cap. BrightFlashlights sells these products REALLY cheap! BM lists the FFs at 139.95 for cabine length and BF sells them for 89 BUCKS!! Or, IIRC, if you buy an LMT upper from GTS in conjunction with the FFs they will instal them free. Plus those LMTs are bad ass and feature M4 feedramps!  Just my opinion... |
