Searching for a NOS Colt model 601/SP1 Rifle sling with J-hook and adjustable buckle in Black or OD Green and was wondering if anyone here might have a line or source. Please e-mail or pm. TIA |

I don't recall getting any sling at all when I got my SP1 rifle or my SP1 carbine back in the 70's. I remember the AR surplus slings available back then were the green web sling with the j hook on one end,and the adjuster like pictured above.Then also a nylon version came out a short time later. I am currently looking for the green web type but have no luck in finding any. |
| I bought my web slings from ammogarand.com They are the OD cotton web slings. They are very accurate reproductions. The metal hardware is a nice gray parkerized finish vs. others that have a black finish. Not sure if that’s the type sling you’re looking for. |

Please e-mail or pm. OP, no one sells a 601 sling repro yet. You have to make your own. All, 601 slings were made/contracted by Colt and were different from the GI slings. The weave was different, the copper tips also. The slide buckle has an extra nub on the side. The J hook was also sewn with no extra slide buckle. 601 sling in the middle:  Sometimes you can find GI slings with a similar weave. Top and middle GI slings from the 50s, bottom a 601 sling  I made a 601 sling out of the middle one, weave was close and a brass tip.  Real 601 and early SP1 slings 64-67, different lengths.  |
