WW, some of the stuff came off the EE and some I had in stock. The SPR I had no cost in, It came on an upper I sold for what I had in it and sold it without the glass.
The complete rifle came in at $747. The scope was on sale for $299. MOE was 36 bucks. BUIS was 119 bucks so real close to 1100.. |

Thanks for the positive comments Let me address some of them.
I like the A2 FSB and hate rails. While rails do have a purpose this rifle is more of a trail gun. Meaning it will be a shooter out to 300 yards for game and fur and needs to be comfortable. I never have liked the feeling of a rail. I have no need for one. The scope functions like a red dot when turned on and focuses from your beer can to 600 yards and allows easy "both eyes" shooting at close range.. Also I wanted something different. Every rifle posted here looks the same. Hopefully this is a break from the railed rifle. |

Considering you have a two hundred dollar trigger in your lower, I'd say you did very well for the money. Not trying to be "that guy" and all, and nothing against the OP in any way as he explained he already had some parts and got others off the EE - but to put that together from scratch using normal prices from reputable vendors comes out around $1,800. I hate to think what I have wrapped up in some of mine, and they're nothing special...... sometimes it's best not to go there |

Remember to do this now, just 6 months later, we have a tremendous increase in prices. For example the stripped lower was 95 dollars. LPK was $42 without the FCG. Complete upper was $504. The other thing is I built a Model 4 for about the same price at the same time. They were a 60th birthday present to myself. |

Awesome rifle...been wanting to try a stock like that. Does it require any different extra parts that don't come with the short stock and dpms extender? Thanks Buy a complete stock kit so you get the spring and buffer and tube. The extension comes with an adapter.. As a reference, the stock length without the extension is the same length as a collapsed 6 position. |

What's unique about this build is that it was built from the start with an intended use in mind.
No offense to all the well -intentioned advise on rails, sites, and grips. But it seems the OP put some thought in to each component and chose what works for him and not just the latest accessory "du-jour". Now he has a rifle that he doesn't have to second guess about. |

And a budget WW. I knew I wanted a stock M4. That's what it started out as. I did a lot of research on the 3 Gun forum. I knew what I didn't want and I knew what I wanted the rifle to be capable of. In my eyes it turned out just as I imagined it would. A fun, quick shooting, accurate gun with the best parts I could afford. As they say , "This is my rifle". |
