Hello everyone. I have been lurking on the forum for a while and i have decided to build myself a couple of AR's. Im demobbing in just over a month, and have already decided to use a pair of spike tactical stripped lowers.  My goals are a pair of AR's 20" 1/9 barrels, A2 uppers, standard fore ends and grips with 4 or 6 position stocks. I was wondering if a rifle kit is the cheapest way to go to meet my needs, or if i should buy it piece by piece. I would like to avoid the EE if i can because i want to get them up and running asap. Any info on kits or parts would be greatly appriciated. Thx guys and gals:)

Welcome to Arfcom and the Disease.

My advise is to hit the site vendors hard they will have what you are looking for.

What? No variety?  Any reason two A2s at 20"?

Welcome and don't sell the EE short, lot of great deals to be had and in some cases quicker availability than new.

Welcome to ARFCOM and +1 to what the others have said. Vendors here take care of us and we take care of them. Check the industry section and the EE.

looks like the info i would have given has already been provided above, so good luck with the builds and POST PICS!! (or as you know we will have to ban you

)

ETA: just wanted to stress the hitting up the vendors sites - and if you don't see exactly what you want send them a Post/im/pm/email ––  they usually have it

Thz everyone. The venders do have some good looking products, im likeing the del-ton kits, but they will take a lil while to ship from the looks of things. From what im seeing it looks like its cheaper to buy a kit, then to put together a kit yourself. I was wanting the 20" barrel because ive carried both m4 and m16's, and qualify with them all the time. The m16 just seems easier to tag the 300m targets with. Want the collapsible stock because they are adjustible:) but thank everyone for their input and plz, dont hesitate to chip in. Ive carried many AR's in the military under the m16 and m4 nameplates and have found them over the last 10 years to be very reliable and accurate weapons. Ive never had trouble from any of mine, but im also fanatic about keeping it cleans so mehh.

Hello Ronald.  Allow me to suggest two 1-7 20" flat tops...

If I may suggest another option, do one in a pencil barrel and one like a 1/8 twist Hbar with a Wylde or similar chamber and free float it. Look at the RRA national match. I would also have to have a flat top on the nail driver in case a scope was desired.

If you haven't seen it mentioned anywhere it yet, stay away from Blackthorn Products. I'm sure we are only hearing about the bad stuff and not the tons of good, but since that's all we are hearing its way too much.

You can buy complete kit or you can buy complete upper, LPK and stock. I bought two RRA uppers from mayguns.com. They also sell RRA LPK and stocks and some cheaper LPK and stocks.
They ship the same day.

May I suggest a third, its not 1:9 but you cant go wrong with Bravo's stuff. Its top notch and you wont be let down.

Here's to your first post.

The Del-Ton kits are a very good deal.  But, I enjoy shopping for the various parts, to get the "just right' item for each build.
