Hey fam, working on my first build. This isn't a budget build but i'm also not going crazy, trying to get quality barrel, BCG, and trigger. I guess i'm just looking for a second pair of eyes. Anything that i'm missing, places where i could maintain quality and save money?

| While I haven't seen a bcg failure yet myself I still would splurge a touch more. You don't have to go crazy with a JP one or anything but a BCM carrier is very good quality. I'm actually shopping right now for one myself. I'm trying to stay in the $150-$200 range so I was looking at BCM, Young mfg, Daniel D, fail zero. Of course as I look around I now see a couple big discounts for a Lantac and Black Rain so I might end up just rolling some dice, too many choices to flip a coin. Good luck with your decision, quite a nice little list of parts you got there, I was looking at an Odin works barrel also. |

You will have a fine rifle as spec'd out.
But just food for thought... :-) You can get that upper cheaper from many places including directly from AP. BCG: I'd be inclined to look elsewhere. It looks like you are looking for a mid-class as opposed to bargain build. I've bought some PSA uppers which included BCG and the best thing I can say is that I certainly didn't get more than I paid for. The rest of your build is largely personal preference but if you want to save a few bucks: Get the Spikes LPK which includes their enhanced battle trigger and grip. I have several much more expensive grips and it turns out I like the Spikes better. Plus the enhanced trigger is a great place to start if you are new to the game. Another option is to get the Spikes LPK without trigger and then get the ALG ACT trigger. Both the Spikes and the ACT are refined versions of the basic combat trigger; any Geissele would be an upgrade. This stuff is way too much fun. You are probably already planning your next build, eh? |

Any thoughts on the Odin Works barrel? Seems as though their isn't a lot of information out there. Most of what I have found is that they are high quality for a pretty good price.
I've also been looking into those Aero Precision parts and ran into this deal. I'm not attached to the handguard and it seems like if i'm going with the Gen2 upper from Aero getting an ehanced or quantum handguard form them might be a good idea. Thoughts? |
