I just put my stripped lower and LPK together, it went well considering it is my first time trying to build an AR, anyway, I used the sticky at the top of this forum to put the lower together, but, I couldnt get my mag release button really flush with the top of the screw, plus, am I supposed to lock tight it in place, because as it is now, it can be screwed off and on.

I figure I must be doing something wrong, could you guys help me out?

I push the button in as far as it'll go with a non-marking wooden dowel to screw the mag release into the button that last turn or two.  It allows you to push it in further than just pushing with your fingertip.  I screw it in so it's just shy of flush.  For me, if it's too far proud of the button on that last turn, you can frequently take it apart, turn the button 180* so the top is at the bottom and reassemble.  sometimes it'll start the threading at a different point and allow you to adjust depth that way.

ETA: No lock-tite.

Push the button in as far as you can with a pencil or some thing that wont mark you lower.  Then use the catch on the other side to tighten the button down.

Go to brownells or midway.  They have a pretty good video series on putting together the ar15.  I screw the button on a couple turns, then push it in with a plastic punch and turn the mag catch.

Like kier74 suggested, turn the latch, not the button.  Start by threading the button on one turn.  Push the button all the way into the receiver with a dowel, punch, pencil eraser - whatever.  Spin the latch about seven turns (watch out for the bolt catch if you already installed it).  Seven turns will get you pretty close.  Test an empty mag for fit.  If the mag is too tight and won't release the mag, back the latch off one turn.  If it's too loose, tighten it one turn.

What they said, no loctite.  While pushing with a non marking tool, you can pull the mag catch lever from the other side, just be careful to not mar the other side of the receiver when spinning it around.

Thanks guys, I love this site, I don't think I would have thought to turn the latch not the button. You guys are great.

There is a video on brownells.com that shows how to do this.  It might help to see it if you are having problems.

Thank you guys for all your suggestions, I was able to get the mag release button flush. I do not have a mag to test it with, but when I get one I will test it out. Thanks again guys for helping me out.
