I'm in the process of building a block I to match my Block II & Mk18, I'll post pics soon. NT4 still waiting on ATF ![]() Actually, I believe it IS part of the SOPMOD program. At least, in the beginning, they were using the TA01NSN with a J-point MRD on top, which, as I understand it, was later changed to the Docter. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The MRD was a PIP for the 4x DOS. Most commonly it was the JPoint with the JP winged mount, but some Docters were used as well. There was not an "official" MRD until the MRDS. ~Augee While "unofficial" there certainly is a lot of Docters out in the wild. |

IIRC, the lower swivel is removed from USGI models due to M203. When I had an FSB, I lacked a swivel on it, just a side mount that I bought.

I have never seen an issued M4 or M4A1 with a factory mounted 6 o'clock sling loop. They're initially shipped and issued with the side mounted swivel, though they sometimes end up being taken off, which is very common on M4A1s from what I've seen.
The "original" SOPMOD Accessory Kit poster features an M4A1 without a side-sling adapter, or a bottom sling swivel. IIRC, the original SOPMOD sling came with a KAC sling swivel, though I am not 100% certain. ~Augee |

LMT is a company with lousy QC. Buy from a company that cares about its products, like Bravo Company or LaRue.

Haven't had a RAS in awhile and just picked one up. I can't recall this same issue with my last one, but the top rail isn't angled to where it would create a seamless rail from the receiver. The top rail on the RAS is more raised at the delta ring as if it's not seated properly. From there it has a slight downward slope and looks to even back out. Can anyone confirm or deny that this is normal?

Lol.....you have to take the screw from the t14 slot out and make sure the clip underneath goes under the barrel nut(on either side of the gas tube), not over it. |

The RAS is ment to add more rail space, not perfectly line up with your upper. You should never bridge optics across an upper and a secondary rail.

Yeah I never planned on bridging anything, just wanted to make sure that it wasn't some sort of defect in the machining. Like I said, I don't remember my old RAS having that slight angle. |

|
|
I've seen a shim used on NT4 and A2 flash suppressors. That will get it done, assuming you have a 14.5 and not a rounding issue.
|
|
"You can't stop what's comin'. That's vanity."
|
On my Block I, PR, and Block II, all three Colt 14.5s measure different lengths, but close to or slightly longer than 14.5. All NT4s are also different lengths so with tolerance stacking I can get 16 1/16" or ~16.04" with 2.75 to 3 peel washers stacked together. my no go stick is 16.02". And all combinations are longer than it.
On 14.5" barrels with A2 or A1 flashhiders if you use a split washer or peel washer with a ~.25" jamb nut you get to 16"+ and the flashider does not look rediculously long on the end... Yes i know the A2X is only .25" longer, but still. ![]() |
