I just completed my first lower build. I installed a RRA LPK in a Gen 2 Noveske lower and everything installed fine without issues. When I placed the upper on top the first take down pin went in with no issues. The second take down pin in the rear has to be forced into place to secure the rifle. I have to use a punch to remove the pin to pivot the upper forward.
The rear take down pin slides smoothly through both openings of the lower with no upper installed. It even slides smoothly with other uppers attached but it does not like the upper I built it for. This same upper was mounted to a GEN 1 Noveske lower with a RRA LPK prior that had no issues with this. Is this something that will smooth out over time or did I do something wrong? Any info would help. Thanks |
| doesn't sound like something you did more of a tolerance stacking issue. It should wear in a bit over time if it's really too much and it drives you nuts you could try and open up the hole in the upper. I would see if you can get it in easier without putting the pivot pin in first that would tell you if the holes are not spaced properly or if the rear hole is just too tight. |

Thank you for the response and information. I will give it some time and see what happens. If that doesn't work I may open it up alittle. Thanks again I would smooth out the pin itself with some sandpaper or something before opening up the hole on the upper. Cheaper to replace the pin than the upper. But yeah, common tolerance stacking. If you could pop that pin out, place it in another lower and replicate it with that upper you could then sell the pin and upper to someone on the EE that likes tight tolerances or swap it with one of them for their loose upper. Personally I prefer a fit that doesn't require tools to open up. I have sold more than one part because of tolerances that made it too tight. Some people like that. |
