| Looking for a lightweight, 1-3 or 1-4 scope that doesn't break the bank. It's not going to be for clandestine sniper operations or anything. I want "decent glass" and a scope that is fairly rugged. Don't want to spend 400 bucks but also not looking for an NC star. Any recommendations? |

I just ordered one of the new Sig MSR compacts. I haven't gotten it yet but they are advertised as very small (8.4" and 14.5oz WITH mount), mount is included and they're 1-6. | I have had luck finding Japanese Weavers, including CV-3, Classic Rimfire 4x28, 2.5-7x28, even a modern build Gloss 2.5x20 fixed scope on eBay / FleBay. It'll be hit or miss; none for a month then 2-5 will drop randomly. I've purchase all for between $100-180 each, from lightly used to nearly new / in the box. Of course you have to be careful for scammers but there is a decent amount of good used optics on that site. |

I wish these were illuminated They used to but they were $500, considerably better, and had nothing in common other than being 1.5-4 and categorized with the Freedom line. They live on in the VX3HD 1.5-5 but without the BDC reticle. You have to get the Mk3HD for the BDC stuff now and they’re 1.5-4 and cost $700 for the illuminated models. Leupold should have saved themselves a decade of model confusion and just kept the VXR line as it was and did the rolling updates. |
