I'm building a Noveske lower to go on a BCM upper. I need a good LPK . So far I am looking at the Daniel Deffence Parts kit. Is this good or is there something better?

I just installed a DD LPK.  I bought it becasue it comes with a magpul trigger guard, which I was planning on installing anyway.  I was also unhappy with the trigger pull on the DPMS LPK I installed on my last build.

The good news is that the trigger on the DD kit was much better than the DPMS trigger, and overall the DD is good, however I have two issues.  One is that the mag release seems a little out of spec and it sticks sometimes.  It's really not a big deal but I'm going to have to fix it or it will eventually drive me crazy.

The other issue that really bugged me is that the pistol grip they sent with the kit does not have the correct dimentions, and that resulted in damage to my selector spring.  The area inside the grip where the screw goes is too thin.  This allowed the screw to go too far into the lower receiver and bottom out before it completely tightened the PG down.  The PG was being held tight enough by friction that I didn't notice right away.  However when I picked up the rifle the PG slipped a small amount and bent the selector spring.  I found an older PG that I got with my DPMS kit and it went on fine.  It was noticiably thicker in every dimension when I held it next to the DD PG.  It was cheap to fix, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Long story short, I'm going to try an RRA LPK next time

––- Also, I would normally let the company take care of any problems I'm having before complaining in a public forum, but in this case my rifle suffered damage(small damage) due to a faulty part that they are shipping.  I'm sure I'm not the only person to get an undersized PG.  I think other people have a right to know about that.

How do you determine a BAD lpk? Are some not heat treated or poor grade material...?

I have put two of the DD LPK kits on my last two builds and I can say that I would not buy from another company. The DD LPK went in great with no issues. I like the fact that it comes with the Magpul trigger guard. I dont have much to say since I replaced the stock grip with a MOE grip. The only issue I had was that the screw that holds the trigger guard got stripped and it needed to be replaced. I think that this is a Magpul issue and not a DD issue. No complains from me otherwise and when i build my next one I will have one DD LPK in it!

I like RRA and the DD kits.  I have a few extra RRA LPKs if any one needs one ($60 plus shipping)

the biggest difference  to me between RRA and lets say DMPS is the roll pins,  I liek the spiral roll pins MUCH better

All the DPMS kits I have seen and used have a round hammer.

i've used a DPMS LPK and a RRA LPK, they both installed and worked fine, with no problems on either EXCEPT for the DPMS Pistol grip would not go on the reciever so i had to use another PG i had laying around.

the i did not install the RRA fire control group cause i had a timney trigger.

I did notice that the RRA LPK installed MUCH easier than the DPMS stuff

I have used a bunch of different LPK's and I like Stag or RRA the best. I mention them in that order because I have always found Stag to have the best out of the box triggers....<><....:)

G&R Tactical kits are great with no notch in the hammer, far better then DD.

Yep ! I'm gonna get the G&R. The parts are hand picked from some of the best out there like the LMT bolt catch and selector Magpul enhanced trigger guard etc. and I allready have a grip.

Heres the M4Carbine.net thread that helped me decide.

Could your receiver be out of spec and not the kit?  Just wondering.  I'm need a LPK and have been considering the DD.
