Had to stop assembling my lower to ask a quick question about KNS Pins.

I got a set of these with my Spikes Enhanced LPK. (Gen 2 Mod 2)

I have watched four videos about installing these, One of them being Brownells.

When Brownells installs these, they put the threaded pin through the hammer.

The other three videos I saw, they put the threaded pin through the trigger.

Which way is the right way??

I tend to believe Brownells is doing it correctly as it makes sense to me to put the threaded pin through the hammer as it has all that spring tension on it, but I thought I should ask anyway.

Well, after searching and searching turns out I was incorrect, and so was Brownells.

Instructions:

Trigger pin is internally threaded on each end. Use pointed tool to simultaneously push out old trigger pin and feed in new trigger pin. Push out old hammer pin about 1/8th" with a punch and finish pushing out with new hammer pin. Install connectors over ends of hammer pin and align holes over trigger pin. Install screws in trigger pin. Do not over-tighten, snug will do. KEEP WELL OILED.

Thanks!

I just installed a set two days ago.  I put the threaded pin through the hammer but from support perspective, I don't think it matters one bit.

Post pics when complete.

No, the threaded pin goes through the trigger.

Here is what the completed install should look like.

Note that the screws are in the trigger pin.

Threaded pin for the trigger, solid pin for the hammer as it needs more strength.
At one time they made the threaded pin hollow and some users would use it for the
hammer pin then it would break.
Solid pin always for the hammer

The threaded pin goes through the trigger.  The pin with the groove down the middle is for the hammer.  If you look through the hole in the hammer where the pin will go, you will  see there is a piece of wire protruding from the bottom of the hole.  This is designed to ride in the groove.

How embarrassing.

Here is how stupid I am.

Just pulled everything back out to put my KNS pins in, and wouldn't you know, right on the back of the bag that pins came are a nice set of printed instructions.

The same instructions that I searched google for an hour to find!

Bleh!

Thanks for the replies!

At the end of the day, building this thing is too much fun...
