Since this seems to be the place to post up about first builds, i guess i will share mine with you guys.....i just upgraded to a Team Member since i havent closed the browser since i joined like 3 weeks ago, figured it was time...and since then with all i have learned from on here i have started my first build....so here we go...any and all suggestions as to where to go next would be helpful...i have a direction in mind but all comments will be considered.... Lower: Mega Gator Stripped Lower (SWEET!) DPMS LPK CAA CBS 6 Pos Butt Stock (OD Green) CAA Adjustable Cheek Rest (black) Hogue Overmold Grip (OD Green) Future - ( Timneys Trigger ) Upper: ( Coming Soon ! ) Mega Stripped Upper BCA - ? ( dunno prolly chrome, where should i go here?? ) Tactical Charging Handle RRA UPK DPMS Carbine 16" ( PreBan HBAR from Delton ) Low Profile Gas Block Smith Vortex FH Larue Tac 4-Rail ( either 7" or 9" thinking 9" to hide the GB and give it that CLEAN look ) TROY BUIS Aimpoint ( one of the models ) Did i miss anything ,,, ? heres a couple pics of the progress so far... sorry about the pic quality, batteries were dieing on the cam and i was in a hurry..couldnt use the flash so i had to hold the damn thing super still

The cheek rest might get in the way of the charging handle but otherwise very nice If you are going with a low profile gas block you might want to start with a stripped barrel. Then you won't have to remove the front sight base. Unless Del-Ton is going to sell you a stripped barrel? |
I prolly wont use the cheek rest unless the stock is all the way back...i have a DPMS Bull 24 coming and i wanted it for that....im prolly gonna switch this buttstock out with a MagPul CTR in OD and use the CAA for the DPMS which will have a BIG ASS scope on it and be used for long range... Yeah i was considering the stripped barrel, im basically trying my hand here, and i am on a budget, im not looking to drop 400$+ on a barrel, im not shooting any matches, im just killing paper, and cans and anything else i can sling a 223 at  basically its a plinker, so Chrome Moly is fine....got any ideas.....i know CMMG has decent barrels and they will do what ever you want, i already talked to DelTon about getting a DPMS from them but they dont offer one with a Low Pro GB, just the YHM with rails on them which i dont want.......so any guidence would be great...
