HEy guys, I am new to this forum as this is my first post.  I recently put on layaway a JD Machine AR15 and was wondering if anyone had any words of wisdom about this brand.  Anyone have one or shot one???

Any info would help.

Thanks,

The FNG

they are out of san diego... skilled machinists quality workmanship they use to be kaiser defense.  i have their lower and upper, they make some bad-A 308 lowers that are compatible with.... forgot what they told me when i was in their shop.  the finish on my KD/JD lower is top notch, my JD/KD upper is as nice but a slightly different color

Like stated they used to be Kaiser Defense which made great lowers. I personally have on of the Calguns.net lowers made by Kaiser and it is top notch.

I also have one of their Calguns lowers and just paid for one of the nice new JD lowers, which comes out of CA gun jail on 2/6. As was stated earlier, they used to be Kaiser Defense, top notch uppers and lowers and as I understand they make both uppers and lowers for some of the other name brands. Rob and crew at JD have a top of the line shop and a really smoking hot new set of .308 receivers they have started selling. When I go pick up my new lower I will be asking a bunch of questions on the .308 receivers. I even got to handle a completed rifle they had just finished...probably where I contracted the case of .308itis I have right now.

I grew up near San Diego. Are you near there? I wouldn't mind getting a look at this place next time I'm back home although I don't know if gun type places are into guys showing up at the door and asking to look around.

I've lived in San Diego since 1973, currently live in Clairemont.  JD Machine is 1/2 block south of a barbershop where I've been getting my hair cut for the past 30 or so years.  Last time I was in JD Machine, the owner showed me all the AR parts bins they have, and it was quite impressive!  He also showed me some of the lower receivers that they make for other people, and I was surprised at the names.

I am in Chula Vista.  I cant wait to get my new gun.  This will be my first long gun and I cant wait to put some rounds threw it.  Im sure once I get it I am going to be back on here as a million questions.  Maybe meet up with fellow SD folks and shoot together.

Thanks for all the info!

Originally from SD living in LA now. The shop is off of Pacific Hwy. Met both guys at the OC gun show last week and they were  real cool with answering questions. Next build will definitely be started with a JD lower. Good quality and the San Diego stamp is just an added bonus for us San Diegans. Will start my paper work next time I'm down there to visit the fam.
