I know there are a million crazy threads here about bullpup JAKLs, AK mag JAKLs, Scorpion JAKLs, and other such ridiculousness...

I've always been in it for the .300 BLK.

Can you possibly drop an order with FN for CHF, CL barrels in JAKL pattern though?

Mr. G&G's accuracy results were surprising, especially with Mk 262. Not good, especially with the hubble space telescope mounted. Monolithic Upper is meaningless with a poor barrel producing inconsistent results.

I'm also in it for the kit over the complete gun, but it would be interesting to see you guys do a PRO model with an FN barrel, MBUS Pro, Geissele SD-C or S-Tricon, etc...

Just an idea.

It would be easy to pull off.

I’d like to see more ammo testing. A couple of his choices seemed odd to me. His results were within milspec acceptability, but obviously it would be nice to see a significant improvement.

I’m curious if anyone here has done any significant testing. As soon as I have some discretionary cash, I’ll be getting a JAKL, but I don’t have the sort of optics to really test it, I’m pretty limited to red dots.

All the guntubers run suppressors during accuracy testing too, and that... to me... is adding a variable that is almost guaranteed to not be duplicated by others, exactly. This effects the reproducibility of their results.

Mr. G&G is a skilled marksman though, and even as I was surprised to watch the results print, he added "those were good trigger pulls" and indiated that he properly POA'd at an intersection of the grid rather than merely anywhere inside a 1" box.

I was (am still) also hoping for a FAT, rigid short barrel on the .300 BLK... the 5.56 too.

JAKL is for going short and quiet, and many of these proposed configurations are not desirable. This is the most exciting project PSA has ever undertaken, and has promise.

Another good idea- the worst part of JAKL as it came to market is that you can't just drop it on your SBR'd lower and go to town. Since we are bound to a proprietary BHO, give us something interesting that reaches back to the shooter's trigger finger. Left eye dominant firers will appreciate this.

It is a standard bolt catch that has had material removed...You can do the same thing to any standard bolt catch...I was worried about the proprietary bolt catch, but was told, its just had material removed to clear the upper... I have a dremel and a grinding wheel...

That is why the JAKL 300BO upper is going on a ADM UIC lower for mine...Yummy ambi goodness...and I will mod the bolt catch and any spares for her...No worries...
It is time for the tree to be refreshed.

Me too... but I'm not grinding on sheit.

Just deliver parts that work.

If it needs to be proprietary, make it NOT thinned out, and give it some ambi enhancement.

Doubt they'll be able to source FN barrels any time soon. Us PSA AK lovers have asked about 102 and 105 variant (5.56 and 5.45) FN barreled AK's as their GF5 (7.62x39) FN AK's are tack drivers. PSA has repeatedly said FN barrels are at the earliest a year out

That's too bad. I just saw some in the MAC-tour video.

The Colonel was acting all mysterious about the PSA proprietary process for barrel making, and said something like they "induce rifling?" It didn't sound like CHF, and you know if they were doing that they would advertise it.

I'll stick with known-good manufacturers. There is no reason for all these unlined, "phosphate," AR barrels to be in existence in 2022... and I don't think the results on paper are good with those either.

I don't remember if I said it in that video or not but when I'm shooting groups for a barrel/rifle/pistol it's pretty random.   Just an attempt to show viewers what they can expect with whatever loads I see first in my range ammo bag.   I don't shoot them off camera (besides whatever it's zeroed with) ahead of time to see what it likes/dislikes and it TRULY is a sample size of that one barrel and those particular loads.    That's true whether the groups are all awesome or the inverse.

I have several PSA made nitrided & stainless barrels that shoot MOA groups (on and off camera) with certain loads and FN barrels that do the same.    On the macro (large sample size of barrels and ammo combos) level I'm not sure you'd see an improvement by just adding a FN barrel.  You likely would in some combos.   Likely wouldn't in other combos.

Thank you for the response!

I wanted a PRO version before your video though... because I'm a nitride-hater and it's a cheap finish for cheap barrels.

It doesn't make sense for PSA to tool up from zero for a new platform, give it a monolithic upper and a free floated barrel, and then mount an economy barrel.

.300 BLK groups from me soon here, with S&B and Ozark Ammunition.
