I have a new barrel that I am wanting to put a gas block on, I am curious of how I can slide it on without scratching the barrel finish.  Any suggestions? Or is it too tight maybe?

Axle grease the barrel and inside the gas block and very slowly push it on, keep the block in line with the barrel profile.

Do I need to worry about the gas hole in the barrel or block being being clogged up with the grease?

Not to worry - it will clean itself out the first time you fire it!  Seriously.

Here is what you can do to be sure to have a clean system.

Wear safety glasses!

All that is needed is a very thin layer of grease to lubricate.

If need be get a can of gojo or other hand cleaner that will dissolve the grease and use it to clean off the grease, I have used it and it will not harm any part of an AR at all.

Finish cleaning with a cotton rag, shop cloth is good. If you have any more to clean you can also use brake cleaner, make sure you do this in a well ventilated area.

After install check for the gas port alignment by blowing air thru the gas tube from the receiver end, I have an extended air valve that is made so you can blow air thru the gas system to check for flow.

Works and have had a few members watch me align gas systems this way.

Thanks!  Sounds easy enough.  I'll let ya'll know how it turns out.  I have to wait until next week to install.
